“Handy to the Houston airport.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

We were told that this hotel would eventually become a Best Western. We had a couch, desk, king bed, microwave, coffee maker, hairdryer, refrigerator, free safe-deposit box, and wi-fi in our room. It overlooked the pool. There is a small, temperary exercise room that we actually saw someone using. There was a large breakfast area with TV and a decent buffet breakfast with eggs, sausage, juice, cereal, toast, bagels, muffins, pastrie, bananas, apples, and coffee or tea. There were also complimentay shuttle buses to and from the airport. Our room was quiet, and we have no complaints.

“WARNING!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

We recently stayed at this Clarion(now called JFK) as a ParkSleepFly. When we checked in, the first room they sent us to at 8 pm, was not cleaned from the previous guest. We switched rooms and all was well. Our returning flight came in late at night so we had booked a room for that night as well. We parked our truck in the lot per their ParkSleepFly program. Upon return from our trip, we found our tailgate on our truck had been stolen while we were away. Police report was filed and we packed and left hotel. We realized about 2 hours after we left hotel we had left an expensive earring on the nightstand during all the confusion. We immediately called hotel. Nothing was turned in and we were told a search revealed nothing. THIEVES !!! A truly bad experience all around.

“Perfect for overnight stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

Complimentary fresh pizza selection, wine and sodas with tea and coffee in the evening. It was perfect for us as we landed after a transcontinental flight, grabbed a bite and retired to our room. Wifi worked in the room. I could use the hotel printer to print our tickets- free PCs behind the reception desk. There are some fast food and takeaways very close by. There is a large open field next to the hotel with plenty of golf balls strewn about. We took a small stroll with our 4 year old in the morning. Breakfast was pretty good. There is a small pool just outside the breakfast area. The hotel shuttle provided transportation to and fro from the airport, which was great, as we had a flight to Cancun the next day. I rate this hotel as excellent value and an ideal stopover place. I would definitely stay again. The reception staff & drivers were very helpful.

“Our last stay at a Clarion or any other Choice Hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

The only reason we didn't give this hotel one star is because the room was spotlessly clean which counts for a lot.
When we arrived, the desk clerk had no record of our reservation, which was made several months ago. I had brought a printout of the reservation confirmation and when I produced this,
she said "Oh, we aren't a Clarion anymore - this was made before it was sold". (PS - the Clarion logo was still all over the place in the lobby). And this is my problem WHY????????? Because Clarion, a member of the Choice Hotel group, took their whole reservation system with them when the hotel was sold, so the new owners had no way of contacting those who held reservations. The clerk said it was no problem - they would give me the same room at the same price - I should certainly hope so! I asked what they would have done if they had been full and she said they would have "tried" to find us someplace else.
This was our last night in Texas - we were returning our rental car first thing in the morning and wanted to stay along JFK Boulevard close to the airport. We did not need this aggravation. And here's the best part - Clarion actually sent us a reminder of our confirmation
a week before we left home - which was LONG after they had sold this property. What they should have been doing is informing us that the property had been sold and booking us in to another of their properties in the area. This tells us that someone at Choice Hotels is not crossing the t's and dotting the i's, and for this reason,
we will never take another chance again with any of the Choice Hotel line. Our vacation time is too precious to waste it sorting out a hotel's mistakes. There are lots to choose from - Choice Hotels - you really blew it this time!

“Great hotel for an overnight connection.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

This is the perfect hotel for an overnight connection. The hotel is close to the airport, with an excellent shuttle service. We have tried several other hotels in the area and this is definitely our number one choice. We were looking to book again this year but were disappointed to find there were no rooms available.
