HORRIBLE!!!!!! I checked in on Monday, 09-26-11 relatively late. I was traveling to Louisiana from California and was traveling with my wife and our 6 lb chihuahua. Upon check in, I explained that we have a chihuahua that sleeps in a kennel. The front desk clerk said that was fine. The next morning, our dog barked when a hotel employee knocked at the door to ask what time we would be checking out. My wife explained that we would be checking out in a few minutes. Upon checking out, the front desk manager asked me if I had a dog in the room. I replied, "Yes, we have our chihuahua." Of course, I had already cleared this with the front desk clerk at check in. He explained that they were a NO pet hotel and that there would be a charge for a thorough room cleaning. I became angry and said that he should take that up with the front desk clerk that allowed me to check in with a pet!!! I offered to go to the room with him so that they could see there was NO damage OR extra cleaning required (as the dog never left the kennel while in the room!) The mgr. spoke to the owners, who happened to be present, and the decided to charge me $150!!!! I objected but was unable to prevent it since they obviously had my credit card information from check in. The mgr. even tried to convince the owners that this was unnecessary but the owners refused. I carefully reviewed ALL documents presented to me and signed by me and there was NO mention, whatsoever, of their NO pet policy OR of any fees that would result of pets being present. Also, remember, we had the hotel's permission to have the pet with us!!!!! I have forwarded these documets to the BBB. They are just greedy crooks! I have since disputed the charge and, as promised, will post my story all over the internet and have complained to the BBB. These people are lying crooks!!!!! There are MANY beautiful hotels on JFK run by companies and people of integrity. Please stay at one of those hotels and avoid these greedy, lying crooks.
