“Great refuge for a stranded family!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2011

We were stranded in Houston thanks to weather delays costing us our connection, and needed a place in the middle of the night. Staff graciously picked us up at the airport, supplied us with a more than decent room, including a crib for our one-year-old, found us milk for her, and got us back to the airport the next morning for our flight. Complimentary breakfast quite reasonable and much appreciated. We erstwhile refugees much thank the staff for their many small kindnesses.

“Practically perfect place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2011

We stayed at this hotel twice because our flights didn't connect properly, necessitating two overnights in Houston. The beds were extremely comfortable. We were not traveling with a laptop, so we found the computers available in the business center very convenient. Breakfast was excellent, and included sausage and eggs, waffles, and yogurt in addition to the usual cereals and pastries. Our only complaint was that the shower temperature was a bit lower than we prefer, but was still warm enough to be comfortable. Overall, a lovely place, and we'd definitely stay here again. Also, we enjoyed dinner both nights at Kung Food, a very good Chinese restaurant next to the hotel.

“Beds are worthy of twice the price tag”

As far as airport hotels go it is usually an expected disappointment. Not so with Clarion. To be honest there is not much between the sizes and appointment of these rooms no matter the brand (except Hyatt Place withe a higher price tag) except some are old and badly maintained and some we well maintained and my room at Clarion was clean, well maintained and all I needed for a one night stopover. I had some issues sending mails but after a few phone calls to the desk they fixed the system and all was well. Shuttle service was on time, wake up call ten minutes late! But the best thing was by far the bed, it was just a sublime sleep experience. $$ on $$ for a bed for the night and after experiencing a few other hotel chains near the airport this has come to the top of my list for future stays in Houston.

“Best overnight stay before early morning flight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 March 2011

When I have an early morning flight and need to stay near the airport, this is the best. It's clean and quiet, the rooms are large, the cost is reasonable (about half the cost of the Marriott that's right at the airport, which I'm told has had bedbug problems in the past), internet is free, and it's a 10 minute drive to drop off your rental car. Some nights they have a manager's welcome with a few snacks and free beer. There are gas stations and a few restaurants nearby, Kung Food is probably the best.
