Our stay at the Quality Inn Houston (10155 East IH-10) was above what I expected for the low price. Upon driving up to the hotel, it did look a little worn. It is not in the BEST part of town, but at no time did I feel threatened or uncomfortable. As a matter of fact, once I stepped into the lobby and met the courteous and efficient desk clerks, I felt well taken care of.
The hotel's exterior is older and worn. However, once I stepped into the central area of the hotel, I saw a lovely gazebo (perfect for sipping complimentary coffee in the morning) and a clean, if simple, pool area.
The rooms we stayed in were in the back of the hotel, so we had little to no noise from the highway. We found the rooms to be a little bigger than we expected for a budget hotel. The room accomodated two full-size beds, a comfy chair and ottoman, and a work desk with a swivel chair very comfortably. We also had a microwave and a mini-fridge. The shower was great because the shower curtain hung on a "oval" rod, making sure that I had more space in the shower without touching the shower curtain.
The complimentary breakfast bar was great! It included the usual cereal, yogurt, fruit, but also included waffles, biscuits and gravy, and oatmeal.
All in all, it was a great stay and a wonderful bargain!
