This hotel is located in the inner loop (the central area) of Houston in a good neighborhood called Upper Kirby. Greenway Plaza is the name of a nearby office complex. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean (no bed bugs) except for some hairs that I found in the drawers. I removed these hairs with some toilet tissue. The bed and pillows were hard and difficult to sleep on. I consider this to be the only real issue with this hotel. Other than that the room was fine. The television was not a flat screen but it worked just fine along with its remote control. The A/C worked fine, keeping the room nice and cold which was important considering how hot it was outside. The room comes with a kitchenette, including stovetop, microwave, and full size refrigerator/freezer. Ask for a room at the back across from a garage so that you won't have to deal with the freeway noise.
The hotel parking lot has 24-hour security cameras and more importantly a security guard that walks around outside at night.
The hotel is close to just about anywhere you would want to visit in Houston. I came to Houston to explore the city for a possible relocation. Downtown, The Texas Medical Center, The Galleria Mall, The Houston Zoo, The Museum District, Hermann Park were all within easy driving distance. It helps that U.S. 59 runs by right next to the hotel and connects you to the rest of the city and its suburbs. Also helpful is the fact that just a short block away is sort of an ATM island with a few different banks represented where you can drive up to and get some cash.
I stayed at the hotel for 14 nights at $55.00 per night which I thought was reasonable. I used the company's website to book the room. The staff was kind enough to work with me when I had an issue with my debit card. I will probably stay at this hotel again when I return to Houston. It fits my tight budget and delivers the most for my money.
