We had to seek shelter from the Texas wildfire raging in our area, and had to drive some distance to find one not booked-up. When we arrived, tired, hastily packed, disorganized and slightly "dazed and confused", we were met by friendly, helpful staff. We were assigned a room very near a side entrance,(which ended up being a blessing) for unloading. The room was clean, spacious and had a comfortable bed. The hotel is located within a major retail area, so everything we needed was available. The dining and lounging area are spacious and comfortable. I had to have a planning meeting with an associate, and the desk clerk on duty allowed us to "spread out" in a corner of the dining room. (the corner was my idea, not his) On this particular day, my grandaughters (12 and 15) had come to visit. Being the middle of the afternoon, the usual business and working guests had not begun to arrive, and the bar (opening to the lounging/dining area) was not open. However, there is a pool table accessable to that general area. The desk clerk had given permission for my grandaughters to use the pool table for a little while, (I was only a few feet away) but as they were getting started the bar attendant come in with her lunch and rudely "shooed" them out. She said she was getting ready to open, and they couldn't be there. Well, she wasn't getting ready to open. We were there for anonther 45 mins to an hour, and it was still not open-no customers in sight. But that was our only negative experience, and normally we would not have been dealing with that employee, anyway. So all-in-all: "great stay"
