So I was nervous about staying here because of some of the reviews, and frankly some of the positive reviews looked fake...( hint... lots of positive reviews written by people who have only left one review..hmm).. but push came to shove and we gave it a shot. It's an older hotel, but there has been an obvious attempt to spruce it... Check-in was quick and easy, and our room was ready when we got there... My toddler found a used q-tip on the floor an stuck it in her ear...freaking gross!!! However, I had done a walk through before letting her in the room and I didn't see it, so maybe neither did housekeeping... My husband found empty sugar packets in the ice bucket... My family went to the pool and had a good time...The room in general was clean and we all slept well, beds were comfy..
We order room service and it was delivered quickly, and the food was decent...
The next morning I called and checked on buffet prices.. our room came with 2 adults buffets for free, but I wanted to check out the prices for our children ages 9,7, and twin 4 years olds... I was told 5 and under were free and the older children was $6. Not bad, so off we went... the buffet was ok, a little hectic, and I never saw anyone making omlettes so don't count on it... when our bill came, we had been charged for 3 kids.. I asked the server about being over charged, and he said otherwise he was going to charge me for an extra adult... huh? I just paid and figured I'd asked the front desk. I went to check-out of the hotel and I asked about buffet prices.. and was told I should have only been charged for the older kids buffets and that she would grab the manager, the front desk girl was very nice... The manager came and was obviously annoyed by my question, she confirmed I was over charged and refunded the $7. Now, the $7 is not that big of a deal, but it's kinda the principle.. Somehow I ended up apoligizing for bothering her instead of her apoligizing for the hassle of me getting a refund... Would I stay here again... maybe.. but I would skip the food all together... and I would avoid the grouchy manager..
