Immediately encountered problem with rate. The hotel changed my rate from what my reservation was and failed to honor my tax exempt status after submitting the appropriate paperwork/documentation. These were corrected after several attempts (days) to reach a manager. The room was very small with thin walls (you can hear neighbor in shower). The television is shared on a swivel between the common area and the bedroom. There are nicer options with comparable value in the area.

Hotel is located only about 15 minutes from DFW airport. Check-in was prompt and associates at the desk were friendly. Room was clean and good sized -- sitting area (desk, couch, and chair) plus sleeping area with King Bed. The bed was very comfortable and made for good night's sleep.

In the evening they offered draft beer, wine, and appetizers -- all part of your room rate.

Breakfast (included with your room rate) contained a nice selection of both cold and hot items -- eggs, sausage, biscuits, fruits, cereals, juices, yogurt, etc.

Hotel is located next to Grapevine Mills mall. It is a very short walk to the entrance. Multiple restaurant choices nearby - from Fast Food to sit down.

Chose this hotel rather than staying at the Gaylord Texan that was significantly more expensive. As I was attending a conference at the Gaylord, it was only about a 1 mile drive.

My wife and I are frequent visitors of the Dallas area being only 3hrs away in OKC. We have stayed at numerous places and usually stay right around Grapevine Mills Mall. We used to always stay next door to the Springhill Suites at Amerisuites but they have now changed the name of that hotel to Hyatt Place. With the name change (even though Amerisuites was always owned by Hyatt), they feel as though they can charge almost double what they used to even though all they've done is add plasma tv's and changed the mattresses.

So that led us to the Springhill Suites which is literally next door to the Amerisuites/Hyatt Place. If you have ever stayed at an Amerisuites before, the rooms at Springhill Suites are very similar in their layout. The rate we paid was $100/night. The term suite is being used very loosely these days and this is another instance of that occurring. The rooms are basically just a hotel room with a 1/2 wall between the sleeping area and living area. The TV is situated right across from this wall so you can tilt it towards the couch or sleeping area. The room has a microwave and fridge but no cooktop so bear that in mind if you need that. The bathroom has a vanity area and then a water closet and bathtub with curved shower rod. The room was very clean and the walls are fairly thick in that even though we had neighbors next door, they were not audible. The breakfast consisted of bagels, fruit, cereal (hot and cold), eggs, make your own waffles, and a misc. other items.

Overall, this is a very nice, clean hotel and the staff were very friendly and helpful. My only advice is to just be aware that the rooms aren't what I would call a real suite. If you need the space of a suite, you might want to look elsewhere. However, with even just basic hotels (Hampton Inn, Comfort Inn, etc.) now charging almost the same rate, this is a relative bargain considering all you get and the location of this place (you can walk across the parking lot and enter Grapevine Mills mall). I wouldn't pay more than $130/night however as that moves you into Residence Inn territory which do have traditional suites.

Coming came from St.Louis to Grapevine for a weekend to celebrate my grandmother's 80th birthday, we wanted a hotel that would accommodate our family of 5 with out having to book two rooms. The SpringHill Suites seemed to have the amenities we were looking for in the area we were looking to stay, so we chose to book there. The hotel was conveniently located is right across the street from the Grapevine Mills Mall, and a few local restaurants. The Grapevine Mills Mall was a good landmark to help us locate it.

When we arrived at the hotel, the lobby was spacious and neat. It had a warm contemporary feel, with a sitting area, fireplace, and flat screen television. The business center that consisted of computer and printer is also in the open lobby sitting area. The breakfast area was separated from the lobby tastefully. The lobby was very neat and clean as well as the carpet and floors.

Check in was quick and easy. At the time we checked in the front desk attendant wasn't particularly outstanding with his customer service, however he was professional. The other employees were polite at all times. One thing I'll mention is if you book via Expedia using a credit or debit card, you will not be able to change the payment form. They will charge the same card you booked the hotel with. So be sure you have no last minute changes with the payment type.

The elevators were well kept. When we got to the room we saw that it was very clean. The space was large enough that we did not feel cramped in. Upon entering the room you are meet with the kitchenette area and sitting area. Both were very nicely designed.

The kitchen area had a nice counter top, sink, coffee maker, small refrigerator, and a microwave that was in the top cabinet. We almost assumed they didn't have one until we opened the cabinets.

The sitting area consisted of a desk with a computer chair, a sofa which folded out to a bed providing us with 3 beds and small side tables that added a nice touch making it inviting. In-between the sitting area and beds sat the Television. This was a rather odd space to place it but it allowed each area to be able to view it with rotating base.

We had two queen sized beds. Although comfort level for the beds wasn't impressive, they had nice bedding. The lights above the bed had a dimming feature that allowed night readers to have light, while not disturbing those resting.

The bathroom and sink area were separated. I liked this because while someone is using shower, the others could have use of the sink and mirror. This arrangement helped our family be able to get ready with out having to wait for the bathroom. It also takes the inconvenience of the mirror fog effect from the shower! I think this was one of the best features that hotels could incorporate. The bathroom was of nice size. It allowed you to get dressed in the bathroom. The shower was wonderful. The water ran comfortably with a constant temperature we set it at.

The two mirrors for the rooms we large and rather impressive. The closet was a little small, but we only used it to hang up wet swim suits.

The overall all room decor was nice, and added a very nice touch to the room. It wasn't a hotel with your usual blank walls. You could tell they tried to provide their guests with something different.

The hotel provided breakfast each morning. Our family liked the hours and the breakfast food. The kids were thrilled at the Texas shaped waffles! They had the usual juice, coffee, cereals, breads, and condiments. They also had eggs and sausage. We did enjoy having breakfast in the well designed lobby. Our son enjoyed sitting at the fireplace to eat is breakfast even though it wasn't lit rightfully so, due to the season.

The indoor swimming pool area was small. The depth of the pool went to up 5'0 in the main pool and to 3'0 in the Jacuzzi area. Both were in service and well maintained. Surrounded by glass walls, the exercising room wasn't very impressive in size or equipment either. As I recall there were two treadmills and an exercising bike. There was a television mounted on the wall for entertainment.

Overall I would say the SpringHill Suites succeeded with supplying guests with the comforts of a home away from home. We would recommend this hotel to friends, and possibly stay there again.

I did a lot of researching before I booked this hotel. I specifically chose it because of the suite floor plan as I would be traveling with my husband and 2 boys ages 5 and 9. As soon as I opened the door, I knew that it was not the room I booked. The website gives a detailed floor plan showing a living area and a sleeping area. The room we entered was a typical (a little larger maybe) hotel room. One big room with a king size bed. There was a sofa at the end of the bed, it could not be opened where it was because it would hit the end of the bed. I immediately called the front desk. The man said that the room we received was the wheelchair accessible room. He offered to move us to a queen suite, which I accepted because it was almost 11PM, but then he told me it would not be available the next night. We had reservations for 3 nights so I told him that I would just like my money back. He stated that he had to charge us because we entered the room. I expained that I would not have entered the room, if he had let me know when I checked in that we were not getting the room we reserved. He charged my card anyway. We ended up going across the street to Embassy Suites. It was more expensive but it was worth every penny. When I complained to customer service I was told that since there was a king size bed in the room, I was accomdated. General manager never returned my phone calls, but sent an e-mail stating that he would not credit my account because they were sold out that night. (Not true, they offered my a queen suite for that night). I travel frequently and this is the worst experience I have ever had. They should learn from the hotel across the street, they had no king suites, so the upgraded us to a corner sutie with a balcony for the price of a king suite. If you want or need a suite type floor plan, there are no guarentees that you will get that with this hotel.
