Have stayed at the LQ Granbury, Texas, many times and it is a lovely-and new-property. But, lately things have noticeably declined. During my last stay, December 11, 2011 I checked into a king suite to find short, black hairs in the bathtub and a very damp towel hanging on the door of the bathroom. The sink and commode were also not in acceptable condition. The TV, referig and microwave-all on the same stack-were all unplugged. I plugged them in, heated a cup of tea, watched a bit of TV and went to bed. Then I found why they were unplugged. The Noise was awful, constant cycling on and off, rattling and shaking. Emails to the manager and phone calls went unanswered and unacknowledged. Calls to customer service yielded no results. Stay elsewhere---or, bring your own cleaning supplies. I will stay at the Best Western in Granbury, always my second choice, now my first.

We came to Granbury for a basketball tournament. We were able to check in early. I immediately noticed a bleach smell, which to me equals clean! Everything in the room was clean & operative.

This property housed 4 basketball teams during this tournament, which meant a lot of teenagers eating the complimentary breakfast. As with all LaQuinta's they offered the do-it-yourself waffles, pastries, toast, etc. In addition, they had scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy & pigs-in-a-blanket. The staff did an excellent job of keeping everything stocked & cleaned up (even when the fire alarm went off at 8:10 am causing everyone to flock to the breakfast area).

Lastly, the room rate was unbelievable. We received a special tournament rate of about $65; however, I can't imagine the regular rate is much more than that.

This was the best value I've seen in a long time!

We arrived very late and the kids were so tired we went straight to our room. We didn't have a chance to do anything but fall into bed! We woke up to a nice surprise the next morning and noticed a basket and some sparkling cider with glasses on our end table that must have been left before we arrived. There were all kinds of goodies inside it for us. There was a note that welcomed us and Happy Birthday.....

We missed breakfast, which we knew we probably would and when we asked the manager for directions she knew who we were and asked us why go anywhere when we have breakfast here. She said she would make us all something to eat and I was so shocked she took the time to do this for us! The kids had their waffles and fruit we had our eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. It was superb! We went on to enjoy Fossil Rim with the rest of our family that lives in Granbury.

Later when we came back we went to our room which was spotless and they even remembered us asking for a few extra towels and wash cloths because they were in there too.

We enjoyed out trip and it wasn't one thing or another that made it special it was everything from start to finish. All of it was just perfect..

My husband & our 2 children recently took a 'Tour de Tejas' vacation. In this vacation, a stop in Granbury was made to enjoy the comforts of a small town & the drive-in movie theatre. We checked in late on Saturday and there was a little stinch in the room, however the front desk clerk brought up some room spray and it dissipated. We were only in the room for an hour before we left to view the town & catch our late night double feature. We returned around 1:30 am. The room smelt horrible, so I called down to the front desk, and the night clerk came up. The girls had just been bathed and we doused the room in air freshener because the smell was rancid! The night clerk stated that he believed the smell was coming from the other room because those people checked out and took the last room at a near by La Quinta... an hour away. The night clerk explained to me that there were NO ROOMS available in the whole town, and I would have to drive another 1-2 hours to find a room. So my husabnd & I decided we would be safer staying. Every hour, the girls woke up crying because of the stinch, we sprayed all night! Finally, we woke @ 0600am went down to eat breakfast and came back to our room. As soon as I opened the door, I was totally taken back! The smell was AWFUL! I threw up everything I had just eaten. My youngest daughter refused to enter the room and stayed outside the room crying. I went down to the front desk to check us out, my husband went into the room to gather our belongings & I notified the front desk clerk of the room again. She immediately went upstairs and didn't even walk into the doorway and stated, "This is bad." I was told that the hotel owner/manager would contact me... however 5 days later, still no contact. I just called the hotel to speak with him/her, however to no avail.
