“No better place for an romantic anniversary getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

We found this wonderful hidden B&B on the internet, after passing through Granbury for personal business. We decided to drive up for our anniversary and we couldn't have been more pleased. The drive from San Antonio didn't take as long as we thought, the staff allowed us to check in early and from there it just got better and better. We had the Belle Starr room, located on the first floor. Never have my wife or myself stayed in such a luxurious and simply decadent room. The large two person jetted tub was particularly welcome. Super comfortable bed with a mattress we wish we could have taken home. The staff anticipates your needs rather and responds to them. A delicious breakfast is provided each morning, and it is a very short walk to the town square. We will be returning to the Inn on Lake Granbury again, we believe this will be our annual anniversary spot.

“Wonderful wedding weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

Our daughter looked all over central Texas for a spot to have her wedding. When she visited the Inn on Lake Granbury, she knew it was "the spot". They worked with all of us to make it a one stop shop for a wedding. They handled so many of the little details and took care of the flowers, table decorations, food, planning and so much more. It was a perfect place to accomodate various family members in one place and many other wedding party members in B&B's within walking distance.
We were lucky to have perfect weather on a beautiful fall nigth. The wedding was staged on the beautiful grounds looking out at Lake Granbury. The setting was just fantastic, the buffet dinner was outstanding, and everyone danced the night away while looking out over the lake and seeing the reflection of a full moon that night.
Our family all agreed that it was a classy, beautiful place to have a wedding. The innkeepers, Cathy and Jim were wonderful and worked really hard to fulfill any requests and more. Their hospitality was geniune and we were very pleased with the entire weekend and event. We intend to return for a quiet weekend and enjoy the Inn on Lake Granbury again.
This place is wonderful!

“Friendly, Luxurious, Relaxing Weekend Getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011 via mobile

We really enjoyed our one night stay at the Inn. Rooms are very luxurious. I wish our bedroom and bathroom at home looked like this! The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was yummy! Wine and appetizers served in the evening, coffee and juice served prior to breakfast. Our only tweaks would be, and these are minor: 1. We wish our room had a more direct view of the lake. But we decided to make this getaway at the last minute and those rooms were booked already. 2. The inn is situated on a part of lake Granbury that overlooks a bridge with traffic and you can see signs from McDonald's etc... Which interrupts the relaxing atmosphere somewhat. But if you can ignore it, the rest of the grounds are beautiful. 3. We like really strong coffee... we found their coffee a little weak. But we are pretty picky about our coffee :)

We are pleased this guest enjoyed their stay at our Inn, and we appreciate the comments and high regard for our property in their review! With regards to our coffee, we use a name brand coffee and run our water through a water filtration system that ensures the best tasting coffee we have found for the money (we use this brand because it seems to appeal to the most people). The bridge this guest references is a mile away from the Inn to the southwest and the rooms with views and outside sitting areas that guests enjoy across the main body of the lake look to the east. We also have large oak trees with very large canopies that are close to the lake. Our waterfall in the pool runs day and evening and it adds tranquility and relaxation for our guests.

“Hidden gem on the lake”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

I've had the occasion to do business in the Granbury/Glen Rose region every few months now, over the past year, and discovered this incredible B&B early on. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else now!!! This is a well thought out modern (not just updated) version of a traditional B&B. Every amenity has been thought of from the floor heating that warms the travertine to the iPod wall jacks. Very tastefully decorated with warm colors and materials. The breakfast is always plentiful and good. They also do a late afternoon wine/appetizer service. The layout of the property is somewhat spread out which adds to the sense of privacy, with the main two story building front and center, the office and dinning/banquet building to the East, and several bungalow's including the pool house to the West, with the lake front due South and the pool in the middle. The town square with it's many shops and restaurants is just a few blocks away, and includes a chocolate/wine store that the owners of the B&B also operate. And speaking of which, this brings me to the most important aspect aspect of this review, as what really sets this B&B apart is the hospitality of the inn owners Jim and Kathy, who go out of their way to accommodate their guest and treat them like family!! Bravo on a job well done!!! I will be back soon!

Room Tip: You can't go wrong with any of the rooms. The web site in very thorough with pictures of all ro...

“A Diamond In Granbury”

We live in North Dallas and usually take a runaway in the area once or twice a year for a night or two. Have been to Jefferson, Denton, fort Worth and of course downtown Dallas at ZA ZA and the horrible W.
About two years ago spent the night at a wonderfull old B & B in Granbry that is now out of business.
Found the Lake on Texas B & B websight. It was quite expensive but we only stayed one night and wow what a wonderfull experience.
First the grounds are on the lake and fantastic for strolling with a drink, the rooms are super clean and the bath with a rain shower and full 2 person hot tub (yes we are post middle age but not dead yet) is a romantic dream.
Its great because you can walk to the square, so no need to hunt a parking sport.
This is not a old home converted, the owners re-built the prop as a modern mini hotel, so some of the charm of the Craftsman type old homes is missing but did not miss any of it.
We stayed in a balcony room on the second floor of the main building, you could with a drink on the patio and look out over the grounds and lake. Talked to several locals and every one was friendly, even the guys fishing would strike up conversations if the got close to the bank.
Great pool, it was to cold to go in when we were there but it looked great.
Cozy room, fluffy bed and a great view.
Breakfast was in a separate building and was typical of B and B fare nothing fancy but excellent home cooking, we have been stung in the past at some B and B's because they tried to hard to be fancy, this was just right.
We will be back, this is a fantastic runaway from Dallas or Fort Worth and the owners are helpful with any questions about the area.
By the way if you go try the patio at Stringfellows on the square, its great.

Room Tip: Loved balcony room in main house
