We stayed here the night before our Carnival Cruise. Now don't get me wrong, its not bad, and has some nice features, but overall it is just so-so. We have stayed in cleaner hotels, but have stayed in worse too. Rooms were pleasant and beds were comfortable, but even though it has been re-done it was a little rough around the edges, but that is just being picky. If you just need a reasonable place to stay then its fine. If you are going on a cruise ship, they do offer a shuttle for $15 for the family and allow you to park your car there. The problem with it is there is only one van that shuttles, and many that signed up for it which means they were booked from 10 am to 2 pm just shuttling people, about a 10 min drive one way to the pier. Not a big deal going to the pier since you can just hang out in the lobby but coming back is awful since it takes them hours to get everyone back. Some waited over 2.5 hours at the pier to get back to their car. I would advise paying $15 more to park at the pier and you are 1 block to your car when you get off.
The beach across the street which is across the highway doesn't exist, it was washed out when we were there and has been since the Hurricane a few years ago. You have to go about a mile to the North to get to the beach if that is important to you; so don't plan on just walking across the street to sit in the sand, it won't happen.
In conclusion, if you don't pay a lot for this hotel, its ok, otherwise you can do better.
