Worst vacation of my life. Hotel was very dirty and there was trash sitting in the halls all day. Smelled awful! Worst location on the island, nowhere near the seawall or anything. Pool is tiny and the employees and their friends stayed in it all the time. Loud, rude, and drunk. Parking lot lights were burned out or the hotel just never turned them on. Room had trails of fire ants all over. The staff screwed up my reservations, and were agitated that I booked a room there. They advertised having outdoor picnic and cooking amenities, but all they have is one dirty grill and a couple chairs right next to a major road. Overall a nasty and dangerous place to stay.

The staff was rude and lazy. The outside doors didn't lock. Trash was pilled in the hallways all day. The whole place was dirty and smelled very bad. Insects have over run the entire hotel. Kitchen wasn't stocked and staff wouldn't respond to any of my concerns. I'll never stay at another Candlewood Suites.

My wife, son, & I recently visited Galveston & stayed at the Candlewood Suites & we loved it!
It was great to have a kitchen, (saved on breakfast & lunch expenses), & the pool was great!
The location is perfect to shoot down to Stewart Beach or up 61st street to the Seawall for shops & eating, (Gotta go to Miller's).
Front desk personel we're nice & helpful, which is not a standard in hotel/motels in this day & age!
We will be back!

This hotel was the best! Clean spacious and very nice. This room had a full kitchen and the beds were comfortable. Bathroom was nice with plenty of room. Enjoyed the very clean pool. Not only was the hotel great, the hotel attendant at the front desk, Ms.Melanie was the greatest. She helped us in many ways. I can't remember when we received such good customer service. It really is so important. She was so kind when we needed a room and very helpful ! ( owners,manager of this hotel, I hope you realize you have a jewel, please recognize her and give her a raise!) The only negative about this hotel, was the side door leading to the pool, it was never locked and stayed opened.
