This motel is a very good option for this area. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were not bad. The motel is dated, and there are noticeable issues in places, but when all is considered (price and proximity to casino), this motel is very good.

As soon as we walked in there was a smell that I could not identify, I hope I never smell it again!!! The lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful during check in. We received our room key but when we got to the room the door would not open. We went back to the front desk and she re-programed the key. Still wouldn't work, the 'maintenance' man finally let us in the room and said that he would be back in 10 minutes he had to go get a battery for the door lock...... 30 minutes later we had still not saw him again. We went to the front desk and told the lady that we were leaving and that we were still not able to use our key. She said the maintenance man would take care of it. We left went to the mall shopping and had dinner, when we got back stil no luck getting in the room. We again went to the front desk and asked why it was not fixed yet and when it would be fixed, the front desk clerk began making all kinds of excuses about the maintenance man eating dinner and having worked since 7am....my husband spoke up at this time and told her we just want to be able to get in our room....things definately went down hill from there, she started yelling at my husband, he went into the hall and explained to her that we just wanted to be able to get in and out of our room, and that she was not going to yell at us we were the customer. By this time she os crying and spilling her guts to him. OMG we just wanted to get in and out of our room without having to get the maintenance man involved. Finally the battery was changed and the key worked but needless to say we will never go back again to this Super 8 or any other Super 8 for that matter!!

Needing a place to stay, I hastily booked this one because it was inexpensive and conveniently located. I usually look at TripAdvisor member reviews before I book a place but this was done in a rush. Big mistake.
I've never recommended a place start over from scratch...until now.
Super 8 prides itself on budget motels, but even by Super 8 standards, this place is terrible.
I don't know if the bugs are all roaches, but there are certainly bugs. There is certainly gunk on the bathroom floor and signs of age all over. Instead of remodeling or completely fixing something it just seems like they patch and go.
To add to the filth, my room had an ironing board, but no iron. A coffee maker and a basket for the coffee goods, but no goods.
I seriously wish I had a camera with me so I could have documented for anyone who reads these reviews just how bad this place was.

They say you get what you pay for, and if you stay here you pay for a night you wish you could have back.

It was my third stay in Gainesville Tx and my third stay in Super8 Gainesville within last 5 years.
