“Needs update badly, Queen suite room smelled of mold”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

We booked this for 2 night a few days before Christmas 2011. We were given a queen suite. The room was very outdated with light fixtures that looked very old and worn. The room smelled of mold around the bathroom area. When we went down to the free breakfast at 8:30 there was exactly one cinnamon roll left and that was pretty much it. The brekfast attendant came out and saw that there were people there looking for breakfast but did not bring any addtional food out. We ended up leaving after one night and moved over to Westin Stonebriar which was very clean and nice. We have stayed at a lot of Holiday Inn Express hotels for business travel and this was a huge disappointment. Would not recommend this again.

GOOD NEWS!! Since your last visit we have made some changes to our property, starting with the name...the Inn at Stonebriar! We have some exciting plans for the summer of 2012. Our hotel will undergo a complete renovation, wall to wall top to bottom, you name it, it's changing. We'd love to have you back again once our remodel is complete!

“Friendly, clean and well located. Free beers and Nachos!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

I was in Frisco for a conference and we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express.

I was very impressed with how accommodating the staff was, they got me extra bedding without a hesitation.

They had FREE beer and Nachos for two of the days we were there. I was floored by this... I thought nothing was free.

I slept on a sofa bed, and it was comfortable. Rooms were clean. I appreciated the free Wifi.

“Good location and friendly staff.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

Very reasonably priced, but I was a bit dissapointed with the hotel ammenities. On arrival, I was told there was no shuttle service on the week-end after 8PM on Friday. So the mall shopping I previously planned had to be changed. Also, the restaurant was only serving breakfast, and no other meals. They have a lounge, I was told, but it was being remodeled. There was a smaller shopping area within walking distance, and a few places to eat within about a mile or so. If you only need a place to sleep for a night, it's ok.

“Finally, Friendly Saff!”

This hotel is the best price you can find in the Frisco/Plao area. So, I had a feeling I would run into a grumpy staff and low standards for a hotel room. I WAS WRONG! The Staff was so friendly, and the rooms were very clean. The only problem I had was that the outlet in the bathroom didn't work, but there was a place in the room with a mirror that worked just fine. In the morning, they had a wide selection of hot and cold items for breakfast and the coffee was above the hotel stereotype. I would recommend staying here if you need a place to stay for business.

“Clean and functional, but in need of some refurbishing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

I stay in lots of HIEs for business, and I'm always a little wary when they are still using the old HIE logo. That frequently means it's an older hotel, without some of the refinements that new HIEs contain.

That adequately describes this hotel. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is in a great area, surrounded by every kind of shopping and dining imaginable. But the whole hotel feels very dated. The furniture in my room was functional, but fairly beat up. The bathroom is small. The hallways just have the "look" of an older hotel.

With that said, there were really no functional issues with the hotel. It just feels dated.
