“Couldn't stand it and went to another hotel.”

First room they gave us was smoking. The staff was able to get us a non smoking room. It was a handicap room and smelled terrible. It smelled like a nursing hospital. A mix between crap and old staleness. Comforter had holes in it and bed was the most uncomfortable matress I have laid on. Sleeping outside would have been a step up in every aspect. Booked through hotwire so no refund. Worth cutting our losses and finding another hotel.

“Highly recommend!”

I've stayed in this Econo Lodge several times in the past couple of years and have thoroughly enjoyed my stay each and every time, as has my toy poodle who always tags along! Cleanliness is a key factor in regards to which hotels I return to and this establishment has never let me down. There are always clean towels in my room and on my multiple day stays the room is totally remade for my convenience. The hotel staff is always very friendly and helpful in recommendations around the town as well as solving problems as they occasionally inevitably arise. The breakfast is fabulous! Every morning they bring in fresh pastries from a local bakery downtown and they are to die for! There is also, fruit, juice, coffee and hot chocolate(my fave). The motel is very close to everything in town, which is another big plus. Also, there is a great pool and hot tub, perfect for my summer or winter stays. I would recommend this place to everyone and can't wait for my next stay!

“OK Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

We stayed 2 nights at this Econo Lodge. The staff/owner were very helpful and friendly. It's located in a very quiet area. We had some trouble with the toilet not flushing completely so we were moved to another room. The breakfast area was more like a little living room with sofas and a coffee table---a warm environment. So, no tables to eat at. Breakfast was minimum---orange juice, coffee, a few pastries, and bananas.

“Really overpriced!”

Stayed at Econolodge while visiting Wine Country here in Texas. Accomodations were clean, however, it is definitely an old facility. Location is as good as any other hotel. However, for 20-30 dollars more per night we could have stayed at a much nicer and newer facility like the Hampton or the LaQuinta. Pool towels were smaller than the hand towels at home and felt like sandpaper. Breakfast consisted of pastries cut into little pieces! You felt like a thief if you actually wanted a whole donut (2 pieces) or danish (3-4 pieces)! Well worth the extra money to stay elsewhere (my previous stays were at the Hampton). They need to do additional upgrades or lower their prices. Absolutely no value here.

Room Tip: stay elsewhere

“Fantastic Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 June 2011

Me, my husband, my mom, and my toddler decided to stay the night in this cute little town, but we were a little nervous about staying in an inexpensive hotel. Boy were we suprised! We LOVED our stay. The office staff was very friendly, the room was very clean, and the bathroom was perfect. We had the pool to ourselves and we had a quiet night stay. We WILL stay here again on our trip back/to Austin. Well worth the stop! Thank you Federicksburg! From a family who stays in A LOT of hotels.
