My wife and I live in Austin and have planned weekend getaways to quaint Fredericksburg for the past 12+ years. We have stayed at over 20 different places in the peaceful town and are happy to suggest the Cottages at Limestone on Main as an excellent choice. After reading the praises about cleanliness of the room, hospitality of the owners, attention to details and fantastic homemade breakfasts, we booked a weekend in December. The reviews are true and we had a wonderful weekend. We definitely recommend others try this place.

My wife and I stayed during the 2011 Thanksgiving long weekend. It was perfect for us. The three cottages on the property are all separate buildings and there is plenty of off-street parking. While they are on the main road through town, they are set back behind the owners’ house and behind a high hedge. Any traffic noise was imperceptible when inside. The accommodations are not luxurious with respect to space (very comfortable king-sized bed, though), but were impeccably clean and well maintained. There was free WiFi and many channel cable TV. The highlight of our stay was definitely breakfast, which was brought hot to the cottage by the two owners. My wife is a gourmet cook and even by the standards that I am fortunate to enjoy the breakfasts were excellent. Each day the meal consisted of a hot entrée, a home-baked scone/cake/tart and a fruit based treat, plus juice and coffee/tea. None of the food items were repeated during our three night stay. Like in an expensive restaurant the portions were modest, but it was just the right amount of food for us (if quantity is more important to you than quality I suggest staying at the Motel 6 and eating at Denny’s).

Gourmet breakfast served on a silver tray was amazing! As a welcome they provided spice cookies which were delicious as well. Carol & Joe provided a wonderful "home away from home" for 2 people who needed a nice get away. We will definitely be staying there again!

Just full of pleasant surprises. The rooms projected a "homey" feeling, were very well kept and just made us feel right at home.
The real surprise was when we were served breakfast each morning. It was outstanding! A real gourmet meal served by two of the most friendly folks who owned the place. This made the trip just great. A real find that we look forward to visiting again just for the experience, and the meals!
