We stayed in the Old Rectory Suite, the front half of the main house. The manager, Joe, met us there and gave us a tour of the facility; he is friendly, and knowledgeable about the area and made several suggestions for dining. It is obvious Joe pays lots of attention to his properties, and that he has made significant improvements since he purchased the property less than a year ago.
Our suite was clean, and the living room is spacious, although you can hear voices from Joe's adjoining office through curtained-covered glass doors.
The Old Rectory Suite is only about 30’ from Main Street, and street noise, during the day and all through the night, is very loud. The house is an older bungalow style home, and the bathroom is from that era: small. The shower head is much too low and quite uncomfortable to use. Likewise, the sink is much lower than in standard lodging today. Also, being an older facility, we had to hunt down electric plugs to recharge cameras and phones.
The continental breakfast is fine. The WiFi was one of the fastest, and consistent, that we’ve experienced anywhere in the last five years.
The cottages at the rear of the property looked quite nice, and were probably quieter since they are further from the street.
We felt secure during our stay, and the property is only a few blocks from the downtown area.
