“Beautiful but prob. not worth it”

i knew once we booked our wedding site in the stockyards we HAD to stay at the stockyards hotel! After viewing the rooms, we knew right away the celebrity suite would be the only way to go for such a big event. The room was beautiful and even had a small private patio with a hot tub! The room itself was not very large but it was extremely convenient being the only room on the first floor right next to the bar/restaurant. I thought the price was a little bit too much also but thought what the heck it's our wedding day! Because of the expenses I choose to pay a little bit every pay day and they were very nice in allowing me to do this, even though they charged the wrong card one time and lost a payment somewhere that i KNOW i made but I could not find the payment anywhere so it was eventually my own fault. The other issue i found was that we also booked the banquet room the night before the wedding. The managers refused to budge at all in giving any kind of discount on rooms/valet parking/etc. How do you charge thousands of dollars for a dinner and then charge $15 a car for parking? They informed us they offered a cheaper room rate if we had 4 or more rooms booked but would not count any suites as a room, therefore giving no discount. This did not make sense to me esp. since we had booked 3 of the suites they offered. I did not think this was very hospitable. Also, the suit was located right next to the janitor's room so throughout the night and early morning we constantly heard the door opening and slamming. Not the best night sleep i've ever had. Overall, the pictures turned out wonderful and the front staff was great but for the price and the feeling that everything had a price tag on it I doubt I will ever stay there again. Go in, look around, take a picture, and then go across the street to the other hotel thats half the price like most of our guests did.

“Historic hotel, close to everything in stockyards”

Location is great--it is right in the center of all the nightlife in the stockyards. We stayed here to go to a concert at Billy Bob's which was a few blocks away. The hotel is charming and beautifully decorated. We stayed in a Victorian room, plush red carpet, and tastefully decorated. The beds are incredibly comfortable. Only drawback was the noisy guests. You could easily hear other people on the other side of your room and outside your door. People are so rude--there was a table and chairs outside of our room and people gathered here in the morning to have a rowdy gathering. Never mind the fact that people are sleeping in the rooms right next to them! The valet man was great, very attentive. This hotel is pricier compared to others, but glad we tried it. The H2 restaurant is nice too. The atmosphere is very western and quaint. We had breakfast here. Food was o.k., nothing to brag about.

“A little taste of The West!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2010

We stayed here For one night after just having spent 4 nights in Las Vegas, we went from one extreme to the other! from the glitz and glimmer to the simple, western life. Stockyards Hotel is on a street that took me by surprise, the location was not what i imagined at all. The Stockyards Hotel was lovely, I particularly liked walking down the corridors looking at some of the wonderful paintings on the walls. Our room faced onto the street, was clean and bed was comfortable. it was surprisingly quiet when we wnet to bed, we expected more noise as we faced onto the road, and was opposite the white elephant saloon, but in fact we never heard anything really.

The surrounding shops were lovely, and we bought quite a few bits and pieces as souveniers to bring back to England. We saw the Cattle Drive as well. We ate at The Cattlemens Steakhouse which is just around the corner from Stockyards Hotel, although H3 was very busy and menu looked Fabulous.
I have to mention Bonnie, at the registration desk, she was extremely friendly, polite and helpful, and arranged a cab diver to take us to Dalllas on the monday, who I may add was a fantastic cab driver, He was very informative, friendly and loved talking about England (cannot recall his name but know he was from Sudan)
