“Not perfect - easy fixes would make a difference”

I am married to a North Dakotan who enjoys celebrating the beauty of the west. We decided to have a long weekend in Ft Worth and he chose this hotel for the heritage. It could use some touches to bring it up to typical hotel benefits. Their wi-fii is spotty in whether it works, the bathtub did not drain well, thenTV system is too complicated and no parking options other than valet. So, ok, I can get through those and thought that would be it. We enjoyed a Fri. am coffee in the lobby, no food, but good coffee. Then came Sat. am and there was no coffee! The complimentary coffee did not come out and you cannot even buy it! The closest coffee before 9am is 3 blocks away other than the bad stuff in the room. This is completely ridiculous that you pay $200 a night and they cannot give you good coffee? Very disappointing and highly inconvenient. I guess we'll forego the heritage next time and try Hyatt Place.

“Shabby and Overpriced”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Location is the only thing this place has going for it. We had a street side room and it was very noisy. The room was clean but needs a renovation. We get the fact that the hotel is old but it could be a lot nicer for the rates they are charging.
The attached restaurant served awesome steaks bur the salad was awful, white lettuce and watery dressing. Certainly not what I expected when ordering a $37 steak.
If you want to stay at a hotel in the thick of the bar scene this is it.

Room Tip: Ask for an interior room.

“Top location in the Stockyards area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

We stayed two nights in the Bonnie and Clyde suite which was full of cool stuff, including a pistol Bonnie use to own. It's a corner room on the top floor and it does get noisy when the traffic starts in the mornings (the road outside is paved). There was a hairdryer, refridgerator and a coffe machine in the room.

The bathroom is the worst thing about this room. It's an old clawfoot bathtub with the shower over, and the shower curtains go ALL the way around the tub. Super claustrophobic and there's nowhere to put your soap because you're encased by the shower curtain!

Housekeeping barged in without knocking on our first morning (luckily the chain was on). Apparently she was new...

The location was great and overall we enjoyed our stay. $15 for valet parking was fine, everywhere in the stockyards you have to pay, and there's no onsite parking.

“Needs Updating”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

I'm local and stayed here twice, but in all honesty is is overpriced and in vast need of updating. The only plus is it's convenient to night life if you plan to party and can't drive. Doesn't even have a western feel to it, but more of a runned down feel. I'd say pass and stay at Hyatt Place in the Stockyards.

Room Tip: There isn't one

“Terrible Hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

My husband and I chose this hotel beacause it was old and the reviews were good. This hotel need some serious renovation. We realize the age of this place but the amnities were laking greatly. They only offer valet parking but, at a whopping $ 15.00 per day extra charge.
Our room was strange, we had six windows but NO view. We had sheets and one thin little blanket ( the heater worked... thank goodness) No coffee maker, no refridgerator the TV worked but the remote did not! The bathrrom ( tub and toilet area) was so dark a candel would have had more light! There was also a strange ajoining door that was open to what looked like a storage area, we put a chair in front of it so it could not be opened... was just creepy! Upon telling some people where we were staying their responce was ''oh no.. dont stay there!'' We were going to stay for four nights but left the next day ( at a $50.00 a day early checkout fee) and went down the block to the Hyatt and had a great stay there.

Room Tip: choose a room in another hotel
