I stayed at the Radisson Hotel Fossil Creek from September 29-October 1 for a business class that was in the facility. The location is easy to access from Hwy 35, but the construction in the area is a nightmare. There are a few restaurant choices close by - Cracker Barrell and McDonalds within walking distance, and many more up the highway a bit. I would go anywhere else to eat besides eating at the hotel. Check in was a breeze. The long haul to the room - 333, was not such a breeze. The hallways to the rooms are long and the floor is uneven. There is only 1 set of elevators for 6 floors, so there is usually a wait for several minutes. The room itself was clean and spacious with a large flat screen TV. Simple decor and plenty of lamps for light, which is nice. The air conditioning unit on the wall/floor was unexpected. I would have anticipated central air. The a/c unit was loud and obnoxious all night. I even turned the fan to low and dealt with it being warm to not have to listen to it. The bathroom was spacious and there were plenty of towels. The toilet was less than ideal. In an attempt to be "green" they have significantly reduced the water usage, so you have to flush twice for number 1. Or hold the handle down for an extended period. The bed was a king sleep number with very soft sheets and a down comforter. There were 5 pillows, including 2 shams. Very comfortable. The meeting rooms were nice, but there was a significant fly problem. The restaurant - Main Cafe - was less than desirable. The prices are pretty high for what you get. I ordered a southwest salad with Chicken for $12 the first night that was okay. Edible. The next night I ordered a chicken pesto pasta and it was hardly edible for $16. They used WAY too much garlic and I tasted it for 2 days. The staff at check in and in the restaurant were friendly. It did seem like there were several people in training because they had to wait for someone to confirm what they were doing was correct. I would recommend this for one night if you have to stay here, but I would not stay here again.
Room Tip: Either side of the hotel has a view of the highway, so it doesn't really matter which side you c...
