From what I remember, there really isn't anything really bad about this hotel. In fact, it's quite good as far as budget hotels go. Hotel staff is pretty down to earth; the son of the owner/manager was sleeping right at the desk when I first walked in, and I had to ring the bell or do something funny to get his attention. The guy woke up all stunned and surprised; his absentmindedness was a bit of a comic relief after a long night's flight. Otherwise, check-in was a breeze. Room was clean. Microfridge, coffee, tea, boiling pot all provided. Location was pretty convenient, being about equidistant from the airport and downtown. The only gotcha (for people who think they are good at directions but are really not, like myself) is when you see the hotel on your left hand side as you approach it from I-35 S, be sure NOT to exit at the first exit, which is Valley View. Because if you exit, you will end up on Harry Hines Boulevard, which is a one way street that shoots right past the hotel. You will then have to make a U-turn at Valwood, which is far, far down the road. Instead, exit straight onto Valwood, so you don't have to proceed up Harry Hines Boulevard so much. Oh, and breakfast was pretty standard, being bagels, bread, danishes, juice (continental), but being in the rush that I was in everyday to get somewhere, I didn't really much care; they served their purpose. Otherwise, a very pleasant stay!
