“Asador Restaurant & Lounge, Renaissance Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

As a frequent business traveler, both internationally and within the US to over 65 destinations annually, I'd have to rate the revamped Restaurant and Lounge at the Renaissance as one of the "Top 10" Hotel restaurants in the world! The Renaissance in Dallas got it right when the remodeled this place. The decor is chic, without going overboard, the ambiance is both lively and modern romantic, and the menu selections and food are absolutely fantastic! The food is fresh (locally procurred) and favorable, and a has variety of selections without being too overwhelming. The grilled brussel sprouts with pork in a balsamic reduction is out of this world. The crab dip, a favorite of my wife's, is also great--with a very limited amount of cream cheese and ton's of crab meet wonderfully blended. All the food is prepared in an open grill/kitchen along one wall. They have a nice selection of infused spirits at the bar they do themselves in-house. The bar itself is a site to see, adding to the overall ambiance to the lounge. Despite having access to the club lounge, I much prefer dining and have cocktails in the "Asador Bar." Expect to see this bar highlighted soon in the best travel magazines.

PS. The hotel and entire staff are outstanding, and by far the nicest hotel in the Dallas Market Center area.

Room Tip: Avoid room along the backside by the elevators

“The freindliest people!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

The Concierge lounge at the Renaissance Dallas Hotel was very impressive! Not only do you get the typical selection of food and beverage, but for breakfast they have a chef cooking fresh omelets! To go along with all that, add in the wonder service and friendly staff like Erin Dowell that really tops off the entire experience! Everyone should put this hotel on the top of their list when visiting Dallas for business or pleasure!!!

Room Tip: All rooms are good!

“Tastefully decorated and plenty of space”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

The desk was large and easy to work at.
There was plenty of space in the room and it was well appointed.
The bathrooms were small and had limited counter space.
They should drop the extra vanity area and basin to make larger bathrooms.

“Overall dissappointed”

My friends had always raved about this hotel so I decided to stay there this trip instead of the Anatole. The restaurant/bar was horrible the bartender barely acknowledged my presence my beer was constantly empty, the food was bland and sent it back. The executive lounge was worse the girl whose name escapes me seemed unattentive and had a bad attitude. The only bright spot was the room service girl she was very friendly and unlike most of the other staff seemed in a good mood I think her name was yesy. She's what got you 1 star instead of 0. I'll be staying at the Hilton again

Thank you for taking the time to let us know of your recent stay at the Renaissance Dallas hotel. We pride ourselves on our service and food, and are disappointed that both areas fell short of your expectations during your visit to our hotel. We want to assure you that the issues you mentioned are being addressed with both departments in an effort to prevent these circumstances from recurring in the future.
We would love to discuss this matter further with you. Please call the Executive Office of our hotel and ask for our General Manager, Mark Woelffer.
Again, thank you for your comments and I look forward to your call.

“It was just OK!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

I travel a lot mostly for business. The hotel is nice and the staff was great. But for some reason this hotel didn't give me my Marriott points because my company paid for my stay even though I stayed across the street at the Sheraton the previous week and didn't have this problem. My company has paid before at other Marriott's and I was given the points for my stay. Needless to say, I contacted Marriott about this and they still refused telling me that the hotel can give them to you if they choose too; If they don't you can't get them if some one else pays. Well since Marriott would rather lose a customer for life then to give them the points they earn from a legimate stay so be it. I stay well over 50 nights a year in hotels. I will give me business to other hotel companies.

Thank you for posting your comments on Tripadvisor. We appreciate your positive comments on our hotel and staff!

However, I understand your frustration with not receiving your Marriott Reward points for your stay.
If you would call our hotel and ask for the General Manager's office, I would love to discuss the matter further with you.
