“Fantastic Intimate Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2011

person found this review helpful

This was the cleanest Hampton Inn I've stayed in. Cleaning staff is superb. There for the Superbowl, so it was centrally located. I had a great stay and happy hour is wonderful. They had a tex mex theme with wine, soda and beer to wash it down every night. Great little gym and plenty of parking. Manager is personable, which gave it that intimate feeling. Great stay!!

There was a nice girl at the front desk knew good english named angel if I remember correct.. the manger was very mean and rude to her.. they really need a new manger... besides that the food was okay prices are a bit high for such a bad neighborhood..bums hang out outside gentlemens club very close not much of a choice of food..rooms are small..the staff talks another launage when u ask them a question. Rooms are outdated and smell of smoke.. the only good thing I can say is the happy hour was free...

We are sorry that the guest experienced a less than satisfactory stay. We only wish that we had known about this earlier as they were a guest in October of 2010, and the review was done in January 2011.

The Hotel was completely redone in 2006, and we are a smoke free hotel. Our rooms do vary in size, but are not "small". We abide by Hampton Standards, and feel some of the comments were not warranted.

We strive to make sure that our guests are pleased with their stay when they check-out. We do have the 100% Satisfaction guarantee, and would certainly have used it for this guest.

“Nice place, bad location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2010

The hotel itself was very nice but the first impression of the area was sealed when the cab pulled past the abandoned hotel that shares the parking lot. There were several homeless people "camped" out there. I did not have a rental car and the choice of restaurants in walking distance is extremely limited but the food wasn't bad. The area is also home to several Gentleman's clubs and the type of clientele that brings.

I did like the happy hour and the breakfasts, they were definitely a nice touch, no complaints about the room either. Despite the area, it was a quiet hotel. I did not use the pool since it seemed too "exposed" outside beside the highway and with the bums around.

“Not Bad, but not Amazing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2009

My wife, myself, and a friend recently stayed at the Hampton in North Dallas. Although the hotel wasn't bad, it wasn't great.

Cons: The furnishings seemed outdated to me, the lighting was also not very good. The pool was not open. Although it is an outdoor pool and it was in the fall, I still thought it would be open. The biggest thing was I didn't care for the decorations, etc... It was not on part with many of the other Hamptons I have stayed at. The tv programming was also annoying because it kept switching to the programming channel when you were watching it. Also, it is next to a night club and I believe I could hear some of the music from the night club at night. It wasn't too bad and didn't cause me to lose any sleep, but still another factor.

Pros: The breakfast was good and the bathroom was nice. The staff was also very pleasant. Check-in was also very easy.

It isn't a bad hotel, but just not an amazing stay. I wouldn't stay there again, but that is just my tastes.

“Tut visit-I was VERY impressed with the staff's friendliness & helpfulness.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 March 2009

The lady behind the desk at check-in was extremely helpful in getting our King Tut tickets. We needed them all on Friday since we were going with children & couldn't get everyone together on Saturday. Also, the manager that evening went out and skimmed the leaves from the pool so the children could try to go swimming. (They were so looking forward to swimming.) He was right that it was too cold, but the kids appreciated being able to get wet a couple of times before they started to turn blue & we got them out. Also the air conditioning went on the fritz Saturday night & the staff gave us vouchers for another night. We hope to use them.
