“Smooth, pleasant stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

I stayed in a lovely room on a high floor. The room itself was immaculate, the view was great, and the hotel itself was warm and well-appointed, with nice touches like excellent, non-glaring bathroom lighting and artwork in the lobby. The staff I encountered were uniformly efficient and kind, and I walked to all of my downtown business meetings. A few warnings: food and parking are pricey (half a grapefruit: $8; parking: $25/night), and avoid rooms by the ice machines, which are loud.

“Nice place in Dallas”

This was a conference stay for me and as I'd booked late, there wasn't a lot of choice left for hotels near the Convention Center. I'd stayed at other Fairmont properties, so this seemed like a good choice. Fantastically comfortable bed. Housekeeping was good, but not great--it didn't look like anyone had really LOOKED at the room as the valance on the curtain was hanging off about 2 feet.. Concierge and bell staff were wonderful. The restaurant was very good, which was helpful since there isn't a lot nearby. All-in-all, the weekend stay was ok.

Room Tip: Free wifi if you sign up for their President's Club.

“Clean, safe, and a great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Went to Dallas on a business trip. Stayed at Fairmont, room was large, clean, it was fine. Over zealous maid threw out my unread newspaper...and I am still waiting for the management to call me back.

After breakfast, I waited and waited to pay, and I had to track someone down to pay (apparently, my waiter was sent to lunch and no one picked up my table).

Would I stay here again? Probably not...but as I said, it was clean and I felt safe.

Beds were double rather than queen, and I wish it had a fridge, rather than the minibar...

Would not stay here again, but rather the Magnolia Hotel instead.

“Good Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

I arrived on a business trip to find I had been upgraded to a suite. Very nice! The room was a bit dated, but clean. Good location in downtown. I do wish that they had vending machines. The gift shop sold sodas, but they were expensive. The hotel restaurant was also expensive but served wonderful food. The staff were extremely helpful and polite.

“eat somewhere else”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Roomy, clean, but battered table in the sitting room. I paid $37 for room service of nachos and Coke. Absurdly pretentious, overpriced menu in the Pyramid Restaurant. Bar food lacks character--there's no Southwest item available. Poor bar service. My phone cut out regularly, requiring expensive redials. Engineer said stop using the phone. Low bathroom water pressure. Nice people take complaints but do nothing to help. For this price and this much annoyance, stay somewhere else.

Room Tip: 500 was a comfortable suite.
