“Best of the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 April 2010

Of the dozen or so small B&Bs Trip Advisor has found me in as many countries the Guesthouse on Allen Street has to be at the top. The owner, Kay, has really thought of everything - the attention to detail is quite staggering! This spacious comfortable room has everything you could need - the bed is as comfortable as everyone else has said, the home-cooked breakfasts are delicious, the whole place is spotless, the towels and robes are as fluffy as can be, and the little touches give it an extra little something. Its location, in Dallas's Arts District, came as a very pleasant surprise as well. All in all I can't recommend this B&B highly enough and hope to return soon.

“Elegant Home Away from Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 March 2010

This B&B is the BEST by far that we have ever been to!!! The location was near the downtown arts district and not too far from fair park so we didn't have a long commute. The room was so elegant and quiet for a peaceful nights sleep. I am in LOVE with the bed and pillows!!!! If you plan to stay in Dallas you must stay here and enjoy a romantic night with your spouse. Also, the breakfast was impecable and arrived with a smile from Mrs. Kay. She greets you with a smile and provides superb service. Highly recommended!!!

“Elegance surrounds you when you arrive at this private guesthouse”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 March 2010

If you are traveling to Dallas for business or pleasure or if you are searching for a romantic escape for two, reserve this guesthouse. As I entered the guest suite, I was pleasantly welcomed by soothing colors, wonderful linens, a fireplace, library and well-appointed bath area. The innkeeper spoils her guests with afternon refreshment-served in the suite or the private rose garden, and then starts the day with delicious silver-tray breakfast service. Spacious and cozy at the same time. What a find!

“The Best B&B in Dallas!!!”

This is the best B&B in Dallas!!! The reviews do not lie! Over this past weekend (Oct. 3rd), my wife and I celebrated her birthday and our 3 year anniversary. As part of the celebration, we stayed at the Guesthouse on Allen St. The room and the service exceeded expectations! Mrs. Kay was amazing and so were her delicious afternoon brownies and breakfast! I would recommend the Guesthouse to anyone that wants to get away from the hustle of the city and just enjoy beautiful scenery of the rose garden/terrace, and peace and quiet! The B&B is located in the Dallas Uptown area and you will be surprised at how secluded it is among the skyscrapers and bars. It is the prefect place to step away from reality for a bit. My wife and I have decided to make it a ritual to stay there at least once a year and maybe more! Thank you so much Mrs. Kay!!!!!!

“A hidden gem in Uptown”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2009

On a recent business trip to Dallas, I decided to venture away from the big downtown hotels. After searching the internet, I found this single room bed and breakfast in "Uptown". What a pleasant surprise – a hidden gem! The room is about 4 short blocks from the Uptown Trolley giving your easy access to the arts district, downtown, and the DART rail system. The room was beautifully decorated - like a picture out of Architectural Digest (the owner is an interior decorator). Equipped with a small desk with internet access, a small “kitchen-like” area with a coffee maker & refrigerator, the room is also functional. The owners who live upstairs couldn’t have been more helpful. Both are foodies and provided insiders advice regarding local restaurants. While the courtyard breakfast was rumored to be great – I was too stuffed from sampling the Dallas culinary scene the previous evening to partake. I highly recommend this place for either romantic weekend away or a weekday business trip. You will not be disappointed.
