“DISGUISTING!!”

We had our high school team stay here for our game and thought it might be decent, weren't we wrong. The room smelt like smoke (which its "non-smoking") the air conditioner didn't work, the shower had hair in it, the curtain had mold all over it, the sheets were filthy, there were toe nail clippings in the bed, blood on the pillow cases, no alarm clock, phones not working, lights not working, and just over all disguistingness.

Stayed April 2008

“Disgusting!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 April 2008

This is the second most disgusting place I have ever stayed. I would have insisted that we go elsewhere but we had an entire group of around 50 people staying here and there also wasn't anywhere else to stay due to a huge track event in Abilene this weekend.

Now, on to the reasons I rank this as the second most disgusting place I have ever been. We specifically requested a NON Smoking room due to my Asthma. The room was a SMOKING room, complete with an ashtray, ashes, and cigarette butts in the trashcan that wasn't emptied from the previous guests. There was also some other nasty stuff lurking in the trash can. The carpet was dirty and looked as if it hadn't been vacuumed.

The bathroom was beyond disgusting. The walls and the shower curtain were yellow from nicotene. The ceiling and the light bulb were caked with yellow crusty nicotene, as well as the inside of the bathroom doorframe. It had large globs of yellow/orange nicotene caked inside where someone obviously missed painting years ago and it has built up.

The shower walls were disgusting. They too had slimy caked on nicotene and some other traces of funk that has never been cleaned off. The smell of the hot shower and the hot nicotene from the walls and shower curtain made me sick by the time I got out.

Aside from that there was no soap to wash hands with, no bath mat so the floor was very slippery and wet when I got out of the shower. Another thing was the stain on the top corner of my sheets and the embedded long black hair I literally pulled out of the sheet! Ummm...not mine. I'm Blonde!

Okay, so you want to know the good thing about this place? Well, I do have two. The towels (they aren't real generous with those by the way) were actually soft compared to most hotel towels I've used. I was quite impressed they didn't feel like sandpaper. The other good thing was the plastic thingy around the air conditioner vent was quite nifty. It really helped the airflow in the room and it was nice and cold! I was also impressed by that thing. Kudos for that thingy! it basically directed the air into the room and not straight up to the ceiling like most cheapo hotel air conditioners.

Don't take me as a complainer. I'm normally all about a good cheap hotel room if you're just passing through, but this one takes the cake for D.I.S.G.U.S.T.I.N.G. !! keep driving my fellow travelers, keep driving right on past this place!!!

“Beyond Repugnant”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2007

While on a trip from Houston to SW Colorado, we decided to stop the first night in Cisco due to the town's Conrad Hilton museum. We booked this hotel through AAA and they had it listed as a "Best Western". When we arrived, I asked the owner why the hotel was no longer a Best Western and he claimed it was because his motel has fewer than 60 rooms and that is why he lost his affiliation the previous year. Dunno. I've filed a complaint with AAA.
Here are a few things we found when we checked in:
Pool was out of order, caked feces on towels and toilet seat, sink and counter were not properly cleaned, bloodstains on pillows, dirty sheets on one bed, and filthy tub and shower curtain. The man who was previously working on the pool pump came and cleaned our room and changed the linens and towels after we filed a complaint with the owner.
The entire facility is filthy and in need of repair. With a toddler, we had to be extra diligent of the sheets of peeling paint coming off the exterior walls, cigarette butts, glass shards, and bottle caps littering the sidewalk and parking lot.
The complimentary "continental breakfast" consisted of slices of white bread, stale mini-doughnuts, stale large doughnuts, and some sort of multi-colored cereal. At least the coffee and milk were fresh.
Do yourself a favor and keep on going to Abilene or Fort Worth and stay at a reputable establishment. No wonder Conrad Hilton sold his hotel and left Cisco in 1925. He had the right idea.

  • Liked — The pool would have been fantastic if it worked.
  • Disliked — Filthy room conditions.
