We initially choose this B&B because it was one of the few in the Texas hill country which would let us stay for just one night. We found a real gem when we arrived. Mary Brown is beyond friendly and accommodating. "The room is not booked the night before, so feel free to check in as soon as you arrive in Burnet. If you need to stay later on Sunday, fell free to stay until we get back from church as we won't be doing anything to the room until then anyway. Need a soft drink, beer, glass of wine, or some homemade cookies? Help yourself." When we went down around 8:00 to get a cup of coffee (breakfast was not served until 9:00 on Sunday) we were given a pot of coffee, cups, and cream on a tray to take to our room.
The bedrooms are very large and each comes with a cozy sitting room with a TV and DVD/VCR. The bathrooms are large and well appointed and include a wonderful clawfoot bathtub.
The outside gardens are beautiful, and the wrap around veranda was wonderful for viewing them.
Now to the breakfast - one of the best I have even eaten at a B&B. Mary started with some fruit in yogurt and followed with the best French toast dish I have even eaten. It was topped with fresh strawberries and served with hash browns and a smoked pork chop which were both divines. The coffee and juice were delicious too.
Will we go back? Absolutely!
