I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this was, for the price, around $55 incl tax. The place has sort of a retro feel but everything was very clean. Room was large and roomy with a King Bed, comfy chair, table and chairs, small desk, micro, and a fridge/freezer that was nice and really cold. Bathroom was small but clean. The TV worked fine, good picture. Don't bother with the "continental" breakfast which is marginal, cellophane-wrapped roll, coffee in a thermos is luke-warm, but there is a small coffee maker in the room also. Would definitely stay here again when passing thru Brownwood. Great value for the price these days.
Seen larger bathrooms on charter buses. Shower head is low in small tub. Sitting on the toilet- average persons knees block the door from opening - Have to stand behind the door to open it.
Lights in bedroom would not always come on - was blamed on humidity and we were told to flick it back and forth to make it work. Gave up after about 15 attempts.
Rude desk people - one appears to not speak or understand English.
Did not clean room after being asked to.
Most of the Cable/Dish TV channels were static and snowing - despite clear skies and no weather problems
We stayed for 3 nights, and not being used to staying in Motels, I was a bit leary, but was surprised with my stay. The room was very clean, and did not have a smell at all. The only thing I didn't like was the cable, but it seems it is the fault of the Brownwood cable company, and not the motels. The bed was comfortable, and with the fridge, and microwave we were set if we didn't want to go out and eat. It is a very quiet atmosphere. The breakfast is just a small continental, but is worked. I will stay there again when visiting Brownwood.
The hotel did not have our reservation, even though it was already paid for through Expedia so it took over 30 minutes to check in. There were only 2 thin towels and 2 washcloths - no extra towel for hair or washcloth for shaving. There was 1 pkg of coffee in room, no decaf. The breakfast was a joke. There were 2 1/2 dried up pastries & 2 containers of dry cereal, but no bowls, no spoons. The milk and orange drink were in the refrigerator, but nothing was out for guests. There was not even any fresh coffee available and a table for 2 in case you wanted to eat dry cereal out of your hands. We did not see anyone the entire time we were looking for the "continental breakfast". I would not recommend hotel to anyone.
