“Come For a Good Time”

The Resort at Tapatio Springs has been going through a transformation during this year. We have a whole new look--stone and stucco exteriors, waterfalls to enhance the landscaping, completely new Clubhouse/Restaurant/ProShop, etc., and the 3, nine-hole golf courses are coming along beautifully. We just celebrated our "Re-Opening" about a week ago, with new owners--George Strait and Tom Cusick--and their families very much a presence, as well as the band, Asleep at the Wheel, as residents and guests ate and partied 'til the wee hours.

A word about the Restaurant (La Cascada): A new, innovative and creative menu has emerged amid the striking new interiors of the restaurant/bar. And it is living up to its expectations, as well. Try anything (for starters) on the Tapas menu; and you'll be glad!

All of the hotel rooms have been completely re-done, renovated and are a tribute to the high standards and determination of the new owners.

Now we're hoping couples, families, and groups will come our way and enjoy this beautiful valley as much as we do. It's located in The Hill Country just outside Boerne and San Antonio. The golf is great, the shopping really fun (in Boerne & at our ProShop), and you can even enjoy a short trek down to San Antonio's RiverWalk for some more fun close by.

My husband and I built our home here 3 yrs ago and are so very pleased the way things are evolving here in Tapatio Springs. Not only are the residents here and the staff at The Resort friendly, but we now have a beautiful Resort that we can be really proud of.

Room Tip: They're all new, so any of them are great!

“This resort is in the midst of a FIRST CLASS makeover”

The room we stayed in had been recently renovated and was very comfortable. The exterior is dated but well maintained and you can tell that they have prioritized the lodge/golf club/Restaurant/bar area as well as the golf course itself. Everywhere you look, you can see millions of dollars being invested in this property and they aren't dragging their feet. They have a veritable army of workers completing improvements constantly. I was just there a month ago and I want to go back just to see what else they have done in the last four weeks.

The bar patio has a great log trellis overhead that breaks up the midday Texas sun, while a large outdoor fireplace carries you over into the evening. It really is a relaxing respite from the hustle and bustle of down town San Antonio.

Oh, and don't be surprised if (like us) you step out of your room in the morning and are greeted by deer grazing on the lawn.

“Big improvement but has a way to go yet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

The place is looking fantastic but still suffers from drought and not enough "direction" from those in charge. The restaurant looks beautiful...the food is still up and down as is the service. Recently had dinner there on a Friday evening (wine is $6.00 a glass) and the food was only passable. Not much taste. 2 of us had the same thing and agreed on that. The rolls were very hard and when the server was told, she removed them and never brought any back. 2 meals were served first and then about 10 min later the other couple got theirs. I had a chicken and pasta dish that had about 4 small pieces of meat, tons of pasta and no taste. There still seems to be some lack of direction from the kitchen staff...they act confused when you ask a question about a dish on the menu. I'll wait awhile before eating there again. Some have rated it highly so maybe an "off" night but there needs to be "no off night." Plus, the chairs are EXTREMELY uncomfortable and so much iron base one cannot cross legs with any comfort. The backs are hard and very and straight and
don't encourage relaxing and having a glass of $6.00 wine and enjoying the view. I couldn't wait to stand up.There were other better choice for dining chairs. The room is beautiful. and well done. Fix the food and cushion the chairs. Otherwise beautiful and classy place after years of being run into the ground by previous owners.

“EXTREME MAKEOVER”

My friend and I recently took a trip to Tapatio Springs and we can tell you this IS the place to go now. I have never taken the time to write a review, however, after seeing the master plan Tom Cusick and George Strait HAVE BEGIN I can tell you it is going to be EXTRAORDINARY, just as George quoted earlier this year. All the rooms have been renovated and are beautiful and clean. The clubhouse was well on it's way to being absolutely breath taking with new stone, new outdoor fireplace, etc etc. The greens need some rain, as most courses do, but we saw men working hard on them continually and the course was still very nice to play despite the drought. Beautiful scenery. Last, but certainly not least, I need to brag on the service. Allan Pierce went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience. Bobby Willis (restaurant manager) was awesome and has two outstanding ladies who gave us great service. Special thanks to JoAnne and Mary Jane our waitresses !! Food was delicious :)
We had a wonderful experience and look very forward to our next trip in the near future. I must mention we missed two opportunities to speak or take a picture with George Strait. Just didn't recognize him in golf attire..... LOL

“Very Relaxing”

My family and I recently spent a week vacationing at Tapitio. We found the hotel to be very nice. Our room had undergone rennovation and was clean and in great condition. The fitness room and pool were excellent even though the spa was not working at the time. Each night as we came back from our activities we saw a herd of deer making its way to the closest water. We had a great experience in the Texas Hill Country! We hope to return there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a refrigerator and microwaave
