“We likely won't stay in this hotel again.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2011

I'll start by saying the only nice thing I can about our stay in this hotel. The rooms are clean.

We made reservations at this hotel months back for a family reunion/birthday party. The hotel was very close to the location of family event. To start, our rooms were not ready when they were promised. In the end, some of us were able to check in prior to our family gathering, I was not so lucky. I wasn't able to check in as the room was not ready. (Should be noted it was past the 2:30 check-in time and I didn't have a room.) I had a key to the room but it was not cleaned. So, I opted to drop my stuff of when we returned that evening. We returned to the hotel at around 10:00 p.m. I lugged my stuff and 4 year old son upstairs to the room to find the key didn't work. Lugged it all back down to the office 2 other times to fix the key. Upon the third time, the manager escorted us to the room to find out it was being occupied by someone else. They had given my room to someone else, and me. We both had keys to the same room. I was relocated to another room with no television or telephone. The manager was nice and did bring me a phone and television but by this point, it's close to 11:00 p.m.

Another gripe is the price of the room. While I paid approximately $70 for my room, several other guests in our party were charged over $100 for their "suite". The rooms were identical and the price was completely uncomprable and unfair.

It should also be noted that in the dead of summer, their swimming pool has no water in it. If you are looking for a hotel for the kids to swim, call and check on water actually being in the pool. None of this was communicated to us over the phone upon making the resevations.

We could have driven about 3 more miles and stayed at a brand new Holiday Inn Express for $79 a night and not have had near the trouble we had at this establishment.

We will all call the 1-800 number this week to make our complaints. No refunds or discounts were given to any of us when we raised the issue of the huge price difference or the room confusion.

We will do our homework before staying at a Days Inn again.

“Roaches...lots and lots of roaches.”

My family had to travel to Big Spring to take care of family business. We booked this hotel through priceline. When we arrived, the woman at the front desk seemed to be off put by our audacity to check in. We were not early, not late--but it seemed we were a major hassle.

When we checked into our room, there were used food containers, old salad dressing packets, wrappers and trash scattered around the room. There was a used condom beneath the bed and dead roaches in the corner. Our room was cleaned, we tried to tough it out, but that night, turning on the light in the bathroom we were greeted by a toilet covered in large roaches.

The next morning, our friend was at the guest again. We told her about the roaches and she told us "Every room in Big Spring has roaches." She called my mother a liar, told us we were pansies and to tough it out. The managers proved unhelpful and it wasn't until Priceline intervened we were even able to get the conversation going on how to remedy the situation. Eventually, we just took the lost and went the La Quinta.

This was the worst experience we have ever had traveling.

“What a Dump!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2009

No hot water, stains on everything, dirty floor, breakfast (are you kidding?), no amenities, sagging beds, non-smoking room smelled of smoke, and, finally -- ridiculously overpriced. This hotel is the reason Days Inn has such a rotten reputation.

By contrast, see review of the Days Inn in Amarillo, TX

“Delightful Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 March 2008

Terrific motel in Texas. I called on short notice needing 6 rooms. The staff was very helpful, courteous and professional. The rooms were all immaculate, quiet and well-maintained. Because we were feeding big hungry male-types, we needed more than a continental breakfast; however, their's appeared to appeal to the lighter-eater.
