Our first assigned room was small, dark, noisy, right at the elevators with an adjoining room, and smelled of urine or mold or old food. The toilet was Lilliputian. The room we were assigned to as a replacement had newer furniture and fixtures, was cleaner and gratefully had no foul smell. It took quite awhile for the reception clerk who was all by herself at 6:00 PM to help us. She was trying hard, but just couldn't be everywhere she needed to be. While the motel is located on a commercial strip without much redeeming quality except easy access to the main road, it still wasn't near anything besides fast food for dinner. The "Business Center" was one workstation in a high-traffic hall. In contrast to being one of the worst Hamptons we have stayed at in terms of infrastructure, it did have one of the best free breakfasts -good fresh biscuits, eggs fresh and hot although microwaved.

If you find yourself in Baytown this is a great place to stay. The hotel is extremely clean and the staff are in constant evidence. The lobby is attractive and offers a nice place to work during the day. Breakfast is nicely presented - hot offerings of sausage, eggs, biscuits and waffles and cold cereal, sweets, yogurt, fruit. The coffee station is well maintained with a very good selection of teas. Fresh fruit and ice water are available throughout the day. The pool area is very nice with a large pool.
The rooms are nicely furnished. The beds are extremely comfortable with good quality pillows. The duvets are changed between guests - a big plus. Little outside noise could be heard and the a/c did not cycle off and on from dead quite to boom all night long - a pet peeve. The bathroom is large with soft towels. Housekeeping staff is very diligent with their cleaning routine. Our room was well done each day - not just passed over for a quickie. Supervisors checked at the end of the shift to be sure everything was satisfactory. I stayed in the hotel during the day while my husband was at meetings, which gave me a chance to observe. The tiles floors in the public areas were steamed clean daily. Windows were washed, the front drive hosed down and frequent passes were made by staff looking for blown in trash, etc. I was very impressed with the staff at this facility and will look into other Hampton Inns when traveling.

I almost exclusively use Hampton Inn when travelling because it is clean, comfortable, and affordable, based on what you get. Baytown Hampton Inn is no different. I bit outdated, but extremely clean and comfortable. I am picky about hotels, and Baytownn Hampton is a good choice.

Stayed overnight 7/26/10 while on a Texas baseball road trip using Hilton reward points. Was anxious about staying at this hotel due to the so-so reviews. I encountered no problems. Found the hotel to be clean and the staff friendly. Compared to other Hampton Inns I found the Baytown hotel to be above average. The breakfast buffet included the usual fare with an added feature of an omelette and sausage links. I would certainly stay again if ever in the Houston area.
