“A great place to stay”

My husband and I totally enjoyed our stay at the Magnolia Inn on Main in Bastrop, TX. The Inn was charming. Cocktails, available anytime. The bedroom was spacious, the bed was so comfy and the provided drink and snacks were a special touch of southern hospitality. Paul prepared a breakfast each morning that was simply wonderful. We enjoyed the activties on Main e.g food, music, art and shops. Everything including kayaking on the Colorado River was in walking distance. When we need another weekend escape we will go back to the Magnolia Inn on Main in Bastrop, Texas.

“Talk About Quiet & Peaceful!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 July 2011

My wife and I decided at the last minute on 4th of July weekend to make a quick "getaway". She found the Magnolia Inn through some B&B website...so whatever the wife wants, the wife gets (you guys know what I mean). After a 4 hour drive to Bastrop we pulled up in front of this grand old home...it is beautiful.Let me state right here that I am not particularly fond of B&B, I prefer hotels, but immediately upon entering the home I was quite taken back with its "you're at home" feel. Paula, the owner, showed us around and pointed me towards the complimentary vodka & tonic (lord knows I needed one after the drive from Ft Worth). Our bedroom was a bit on the small size (as was the bathroom) but what the heck we weren;t planning on staying inside for much (just a noe night trip). The bed...OMG, the bed...had a 4 inch memory foam mattress. I slept better than I had in months. It was so quiet I awoke a couple of times during the night and wanted to get up and make some kind of noise...the quietness was almost unsettling. The grounds around he home are beautful...if the weather hadn't been so doggone hot (100F) we would have sat out near the garden.
For breakfast Paula made French Toast with blueberry cream cheese filling. GREAT! It was so wonderful and it almost melted in your mouth. Yes, I got the recipe.
I would highly recommend this B&B. It is lovely, the owner is super & friendly, the breakfast is to die for. Yep, should we decide to return to Bastrop we will definately sta there again.

“Couldn't be happier with our stay at The Magnolia Inn!”

I couldn't have been happier with our recent stay at the Magnolia Inn on Main. The home is so beautiful that when we walked in my mouth hit the floor. This home has been lovingly restored and you can tell that the owners are very proud of their B&B. We were greeted like old friends the moment we got there and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our weekend getaway.

We stayed in the Jazz Suite. This room is enormous and comes with the most comfortable king size bed I think I've ever slept in. In fact, the mattress was so comfortable that I almost pulled off the sheets just to find out who made it.

As far as the location, it couldn't be better. Once we got in on Friday evening our car stayed parked out front the entire weekend...except for a quick trip to Roscar Chocolatier. We walked down Main and around the historic district to do all of our sightseeing, shopping, and eating. Speaking of eating, the breakfast we were served was fantastic.

If you're going to be in Bastrop or considering a weekend getaway, you have to stay at the Magnolia Inn. We planned our next visit before we had left on our last day. Can't wait to go back!

“The perfect combination of everything”

Magnolia Inn is a lovely place. It has been lovingly restored yet it never feels stuffy or museum-like. The beds are comfortable, the bedding is first rate and Paula pays attention to the smallest detail - all designed to make your stay perfect. We were pampered like guests, yet treated like family - a combination hard to find anywhere! The breakfasts were wonderful, the coffee was fresh and hot and the hospitality generous. Magnolia Inn will be a repeat get-a-way for us for many years to come!

Another wonderful weekend at the Inn; everything could not have been better! Was the weekend of Bastrop's Lost Pines Christmas Weekend, an anual event that we plan on making a Christmas tradition. The Magnolia Inn was the perfect location to be for all the festivites and activities. And of course, a big shout out to Paula , the owner, for making our visit the best!
