The first thing I noticed about our room was the smell. It smelled as if it had once been a smoking room but was now designated as a non-smoking room. I later noticed a cigarette burn mark on one of the night stands. My husband thought the smell was due to the carpets being old and in need of replacement. The hallway smelled as well and the carpets had many stains. The air unit in our room had one setting. Don't know which setting that was. Although the unit had heat, air and a STOP settings, the unit put out one temp. We put the setting to "STOP" on the first day of our stay but the unit never turned off. In the exercise room, the air unit did not have a knob to adjust the temp to a cooler setting to accommodate running on the treadmill. The window was cracked open about an inch but the curtain covered any cool air that might have made the room temp more bearable. After unsuccessfully attempting to pull the window open a little more, I went back to the treadmill but the treadmill would not run again. I tried to use the other treadmill but it had an "E1 stall" message and did not run either. The two bath towels provided for our room were small. We did enjoy the indoor pool. This was an unexpected surprise that we appreciated each day of our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful but seemed inexperienced and uncomfortable. My husband was taking a training course and the training center supposedly had a corporate rate with Sleep Inn. I booked the room for the training days and was given a rate $9 over the rate the training center had mentioned. A few days before our trip, I received a call from Sleep Inn saying that the girl who had booked our room had "screwed up" and they were trying to figure out what she had done and the rate was really $1 more than we were quoted and would we still like to reserve our room. The location is great with a Cracker Barrel on one side of the hotel and a Ruby Tuesday on the other. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel due to its need of repair. There are at least four other hotels on the same road. We will be staying at one of these hotels when my husband needs to return for more training.
