“"Cherokee Sunset"”

We have rented Cherokee Sunset several times including for our "Honeymoon" May 24,2011, the experience just improves with each visit. It's wonderful to get trulely disconnected from the huslte and bustle of our busy lives....and take in all of natures beautiful accents.......Being at this cabin you can't help to feel like King & Queen of the Mountain!!! Beautifull panoramic..views...a photographers dream come true....you see so many weather and sky changes that you can't seem to capture them all.
Always a pleasure staying with Timbercreek as we will be back!!!

Thanks for everything,
Mark & Kimberly Myers

“Great Cabin - Poor Management”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2011

Absolutely loved the cabin we rented in Wears Valley, but the management should learn a little more about hospitality for their guests. The cabin was extremely cold when we arrived late at night. It seems they could take a 5 minute ride to the cabin and turn the heat up before guests arrived. With cathedral ceilings, it took awhile to heat up before we could take our coats off. The back deck where the hot tub was located was covered with leaves about 3" deep. The only soap in the cabin were the small face bars. The cabin wasn't very clean. There was a large yellow stain on the extra blanket that we pulled down out of the closet. The firewood was green and would not burn, even with massive amounts of dried kindling that we brought with us. I would rent again, but with lower expectations about the preparations of the cabin upon arrival.

“Creekside cabin”

We loved the cabin, very rustic and right on the river. Perfect for a couple, just wanting to get away from it all. Especially if you're on a budget! Great decor, comfy bed, everything worked fine, staff was friendly and hot tub was nice... Light a fire, open all the windows and just sit back and relax... Just some advice to people though. This is a very old cabin, so not in perfect shape. It's in the middle of the woods next to the river, so expect bugs, animals and maybe some cobwebbs(also depends on season). There is a bridge to walk over to get to cabin, that is shared with another cabin. The location of the hot tub would be my only complaint because it's next to the walkway coming off the bridge... If you're looking for 4 star accomadations, this one is not for you! If you're looking to get back to nature and relax, this one is for you. We will definitely be going back next year and staying longer next time!

“Cherokee Sunset”

Cozy and wonderful little cabin for a couples retreat with absolutely gorgeous views. We stayed for a long weekend and it was so relaxing being away from it all. Cell phone service was also spotty so that was a nice, unexpected bonus for me.

Only downsides are the road and gravel driveway to the cabin (fairly steep and not meant for 4-cyl family cars) and the fact there are no shades on the upper windows of the cabin. Not having brought an eye mask, I was up shortly after sunrise each morning.

The Timbercreek staff was pleasant to work with and other than us not asking about the terrain before renting the cabin, we had a great experience with them. We will likely book another cabin through them again in the future, but I am going to look into renting a cabin a little closer to Smokey Mountain National Park and Gatlinburg for our next visit. Despite what the website says, it's really about 15-20 minutes to the park and Gatlinburg and much longer when traffic is heavy during peak travel seasons.

Room Tip: Driver tip: Come in through Townsend instead of through Pigeon Forge if coming from the West. Much...

“Wet Your Whistle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 May 2011

This was the seventh time we’ve rented from Timbercreek and we’ve yet to be disappointed. Office staff has always been very friendly and pleasant to deal with.

Wet Your Whistle is the perfect cabin for couples. The cabin is secluded on Clabo Mountain which affords beautiful valley and mountain views as well as gorgeous sunsets. Just a short segment of the road up to the cabin is gravel, otherwise it’s all paved. The road is one lane and steep but well worth the journey.

Furnishings and décor are very tasteful and in good condition. The bed was a bit creaky but overall pretty comfortable. I do recommend you bring your own pillows. Bathroom was a nice size with a large Jacuzzi tub for two. The bathroom vanity area is very dark in the morning so bring a lighted mirror for make-up application and shaving if that’s important to you. The living room was comfortable with a nice TV and plenty of channels. Starz movie channels were included in the lineup.

Sitting out on the deck enjoying the sunset is the best feature of this cabin. You will only see the roof of one other cabin (Ravenwood) from the side deck; otherwise, there are no other cabins visible. The hot tub has a nice view of the mountains but is not covered.
The owners did not cut down all the trees in front of the cabin so you don’t get a grand panoramic view but the mountains and valley are still very easily visible.

Only complaint was the grill, which is a park style grill cemented into the ground. The ground had settled leaving the grill at an awkward angle on the hill and hard to use. There were also some crumbs on the kitchen table and rug underneath it. This area could have been cleaned better.

Overall this is a great cabin that made for a great vacation. Can’t wait to go back!
