We stayed at this hotel because it got decent reviews on Expedia. I was hesitant to stay at a Super 8 but the reviews were quite positive so I thought I would give it a shot. After all, we were just staying for one night before moving to a nicer hotel. (We knew we were getting in late and this provided a shorter drive from our direction for a good price). I figured we would just get a good night’s sleep and then begin the next segment of our vacation. I was WRONG!

The room was actually a decent size and at first glance I felt the hotel would be perfectly adequate. I'm totally fine with the outdated furniture, etc - we knew we would be getting that for the cheap price. However, the room was quite dirty - especially in the bathroom. The air conditioning/heater unit was very difficult to set to a comfortable temperature. In fact, when the room "over cooled" in the middle of the night, and we needed to turn up the heat, the dirty unit began to smoke and set off the fire alarm! Speaking of which, this "non-smoking" room (which was clearly marked as such) smelled strongly of smoke and "cover-up" which made it difficult for my son and I to sleep. We even found a burn mark on the comforter in the room.

Long story short, don't be tempted to save a little money here... it is simply not worth it; even if you aren't a particularly picky traveler. I give it 2 stars (versus 1) because the staff was friendly and the room size was good.

We went thru Priceline's "name you're own price" and we had asked for a 2-2.5 star hotel - um, yeah Super 8 is listed on there as a 1 star hotel and we got stuck with them! We got there and our carpet was absolutely filthy and sticky- had to wear our shoes the whole time if we didn't want black sticky feet/socks! And there were bugs in the shower! The bed wasn't that comfy. The pillows were really thin - luckily we got a standard two bed room and we just took the pillows from the other bed and used those too. We went in one night to ask for extra towels - they gave them to us unfolded. The smoke alarm kept going off in our room - took the staff guy 20 minutes to replace a battery?!? And above all this, we paid $70 a night plus taxes/surgcharges - this is when the regular room rate is only $69.95 plus tax. So we paid $167 when if we had just walked into the hotel and got the room it'd cost us $154! Granted that was partially Priceline's fault.
Also it was about 20-30 minute drive into the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area so every time we went into town we would have to leave early.
Overall not a good trip considering we were celebrating our one year anniversary!

Our room was spacious and very clean. It had 2 queen beds with the bathroom between, so it feels like 2 separate rooms. There are doors to each room so you can close them off for privacy and each "room" had it's own air conditioner allowing for more even cooling of the space. The back bedroom has a balcony overlooking a small creek. A few minor things to note: only the front bedroom has a TV and it is an older style TV. That was okay for us as our teenage daughter stayed in that room, while we enjoyed sitting out on our balcony. Also there was no microwave or fridge in the room. Lastly the breakfast is very minimal in items and space; primarily prepackaged danishes, coffee and teas along with bagels you could toast in the 2 slice toaster. Not gourmet, but they do provide trays so you can take your breakfast back to your room as there is no place to sit and eat it. Overall, if you are just looking for a good, quiet, clean place to sleep it is a good deal!!

since the new owners took over they are not nice rude and a place were kids do not feel welcome the rooms are not clean and we had to ask more than one time to please clean our room while we were a way oh and you better check ur room bedding for any and everthnk bc one little nic you will be blamed check everthink!!!!!!!! this is a place I would beware of we stayed JULY 16-19THwe paid in advance we will do that again until we see the room first
