We were traveling from Canada to Florida, and needed somewhere near Knoxville to stop for the night. This area, around Powell, has good amenities and almost anything someone on the way through needs: gas, good restaurants, groceries, and so on. The Comfort Suites was ideally situated: close to I-75, yet far enough away that it was quiet. We ate dinner at Ruby Tuesdays close by, and really enjoyed it. We were able to buy everything we needed for that night and the next day's travel nearby, so it was very convenient.
The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming, right from the first hello to the last good-bye. They were helpful, and we got a very reasonable rate on the precise room we wanted. The room itself was clean and quiet, the beds were comfortable, and fit our needs perfectly.
The breakfast the next morning was very nice. I have food allergies, so I brought much of my own food, but was able to use their (plastic) plates and cutlery, their coffee, milk, and tea, plus I had some of their eggs and bacon, and it made a more than adequate breakfast. The only reason I wouldn't give this five stars instead of four is that to my mind five stars implies grand ballrooms and liveried waitstaff. This was a clean, comfortable, quiet, convenient hotel, and perfectly suited to what we were looking for.
I would definitely stop here again – indeed, I would seek it out as a place to stop because I know it's quality. Definitely a keeper!
