“No No No”

The lobby looks good, but the rooms need updating ASAP. Big box TVs, bathtubs that feel as if its going to fall into the next floor at any min., tub had more dents then a race car, windows that sweated so bad you could not see out of them, there was urine stains beside commode, and rust on bathroom door hinges.

“Saved our New Years getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

We had never been to the area during the holidays, and decided to try it for New Years. I had rented a cabin that I thought would be quick & easy to get to after spending the days in town. Little did I know that it was on "suicide mtn.". So, late Thursday, the 29th, I found myself calling around looking for somewhere else to stay. To no surprise, most places were booked, but this Holiday Inn had a room. In the past, I've not been very impressed with Holiday Inns, but it was late, we were desperate, and they had a room. So, with expectations low, we traveled back into Pigeon Forge. We were pleasently surprised...clean, indoor pool/hot tub, laundry room, quiet. The price was surprisingly within reason, also. Front desk staff was friendly & helpful. I would stay here again.

“Great Hotel”

We stayed there 3 nights. The staff was wonderful & couldn't be more helpful. Our room was very nice. We slept all night with no problems. Each room had micro frig, coffee pot & microwave. There were two nice benches to put your luggage on so you didn't have to put it on your bed. The only thing I would have liked to have been better was the water pressure in the shower. It was OK .

“Excellent experience - would recommend to others”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

This was our first trip to the tourist mecca of Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge/Sevierville Tennessee. We booked the Holiday Inn through Priceline and got what turned out to be a pretty good price. There seems to be massive overcapacity of hotels, condo rentals, and timeshares in this area, so the competition is keen (It seems that every block or two there is some hawker trying to get your attention and offer you free show tickets in exchange for a time share sales presentation; avoid eye contact!). The room was very clean and comfortable, and the pool/whirlpool area was very pleasant. The front desk staff was VERY HELPFUL and courteous; kudos to all. The only minor complaint would have been a flat screen TV in the room instead of the aging tube model, but with all the evening shows in town, we didn't spend all that much time watching TV. The breakfast buffet wasn't set up the days we were there so we couldn't try it out. The hotel is set back from the main strip, so there should be no road noise even if your room faces the street. Our room was on the back side of the hotel, which was especially quiet. All-in-all, a very pleasant hotel stay for our first trip to the area.

“Run away. Run far, far away!!”

I guess I should have read further down the Trip Adviser reviews before booking here. Yep...it was pretty bad. For $100 a night, you have got to be kidding me. The lobby is very nice. But the room and corridors are grungy looking. My pregnant wife and I tried to get a refund after just the first 20minutes in the room. You could feel the springs in the bed just by sitting on the end. The hotel manager on duty that night would not allow us to accept a refund and leave. It was really the most bizzare situation. We hadn't even used the room or the bathroom. And it wasn't booked through a third party (Hotwire, Expedia, Hotels.com, etc.) Even after we contacted corporate. Corporate said they had never experienced a situation in which the hotel manager refused to refund us so we could find another place. Corporate though, could not force them to do so. And that hotel manager was adamant that we stay there. Very strange and foolish on her part, because we did manage to get a refund the next morning from another more reasonable manager. But what a tiresome ordeal. So needless to say we did end up staying there after they found us another room. The bed in the second room was a bit better. But yikes!! One of the side lamp bulbs was burned out, the toilet seat was broken and half hanging off, there were hairs both inside the tub and on the shower ceiling. The woman the next morning who issued us the credit was very nice and apologetic and so only because of her, would we give Holiday Inn another chance. Not this one!! But perhaps we won't black list them entirely!!

But seriously, save yourself the aggravation and stay at the Hampton Inn or the Marriot Spring Hill Suites just down the road. They are about the same price. about $100/night for a King Room. That Holiday Inn was about on par with one of $40-50/night places. Perhaps a Red Roof Inn or Rodeway Inn or Econologe. For our second night we stayed at the Hampton Inn just up the road for the same price and what a difference!! Bed quality, cleanliness. Plus complimentary breakfast. Incomparable.

Seriously folks, don't even waste your time with this one. There are PLENTY of places in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. No need to fool around with this place.

Room Tip: Don't even bother with this place. This place was marginally better than one of the older, ch...
