My husband and I went to Pigeon Forge for a Minister's Conference. This time of the year is a very slow one for Pigeon Forge. However, we had an emergency come up around 8pm on the 3rd day of our stay, with a member of our church. I went to the front desk and talked with Doyle. He was reluctant to call the manager about us getting a discount on that night (we were having to travel 6 hours and get another motel). I talked with him some more and he finally called Paula. She was VERY helpful! She said our responsibility was to the members of our church and she would take the entire nights stay off our bill! We were so thankful and relieved that we had the money to put toward another motel. Even though it was a slow time for them, they took our needs into consideration!!! This means a lot to us! The folks were very helpful this week and anything we needed they tried to help with. This is just one reason I am a Platinum Member with Priority Club, and choose Holiday Inn above the rest!!!! Thanks again for being helpful to us!

Stayed at Holiday inn express on weekend of January 13 -15. Went thru priceline and got a very good deal. Staff was very courteous. Breakfast served included pancakes, eggs, bacon, biscuit and gravy, various cereal and pastries. The room was very spacious with high cealings. The room was also very clean ( I even looked behind the furniture and it was very clean. Indoor pool and jacuzzi was well maintained. The bed was very comfortable with multifirmness pillows with each identified of their firmness. Only negatives at all include the need for more lighting in bathroom, takes a while for water to get warm. and some furnishing including tv needs to be updated. The radio clock in the room did not work properly but I didn't complain so they didn't know anything about. Parking spaces are a little narrow but I think everyone is downsizing parking spaces. I do recommend this hotel.

First time to stay at this location. Chose it b/c of the need for a suite with a separate bedroom. On arrival, commode in room did not work. We left for a while, and it was fixed when we got back. If that had been the only problem, that would have been fine.
We had problems with our heating/air unit the entire time. For 2 nights and 3 days, the unit NEVER turned off. We had to endure the loud roaring sound while trying to sleep. Even though the outside temp was in the 30's and 40's, our room was unbearably hot the entire time, as the heat would not turn off. We eventually decided to turn on the AC and set it on 68. It still did not get cool and it NEVER turned off! And yes, this was even after having it "fixed" by hotel maintenance.
The unit looked like an attempt had been made to update it, but it was very pieced together. It was very dimly lit. I had to open the curtains to get enough light to put on my makeup. There are only sliding doors separating the bedrooms, and one was off track. The door to the hotel hallway was so poorly hung, the light from the hall shone through the gaps. The sofa bed was so uncomfortable my son considered folding it up and sleeping directly on the sofa. And, once it is let out, there is not room to walk around in the sitting room. There was a nice large, tub, but there were multiple hairs in it because it had not been cleaned since the last guests left.
I complained to hotel management and was given 1,000 club points. They would not move us to another room. Our experience was so bad, we tried to move to another hotel. However, it was the week of Christmas/NY, and everything was booked up.
Staff is mediocre. Not very professional in their appearance or actions. We will never, ever stay at this location again!

Fairly good location if going to Dollywood via Teaster Lane; however, twice we missed the turn into the hotel from the main highway, because area road signs and maps are confusing and/or conflicting. Our room had annoying, persistant noises in the wall or ceiling. Maybe it was in the pipes, sounded like a pounding or drumming, similar to loud fireworks about a block away. Also our A/C had rattles and made noise. The main entry doors to the lobby were not automatic opening, making it more difficult to carry our luggage in and out. the common areas of the hotel showed years of wear, and they had very low quality facial tissue in the room. our bed had an uncomfortable hard surface on the mattress. We do not find these short-comings at most Holiday Inn Express locations.
