My husband and I stayed one nite for New Year's Eve. We have always wanted to stay here and decided NYE would be a great time to try it. I made the reservation early on December 5th on the Wyndham website for a king-sized bed guestroom. The price of the room was $329. I had looked on TripAdvisor at other reviewer's gorgeous pictures of their rooms so I was optimistic we would have a wonderful experience.
We arrived early at 1 PM and were told our room would not be ready until 3, which was fine. We valeted the car and came back at 3 and were given a room on the 1st floor-room 112 to be exact. When we got to the room I couldn't believe how tiny it was after how large other rooms were in pictures. We did get the king sized bed, but there wasn't much room for anything else. After looking at the fire escape plan I'm pretty sure we had one of the smallest rooms on the floor. Not only was the room tiny, I quickly realized I could hear everything the couple in the room next to us were saying. I could even hear a voicemail message they were playing on speaker phone! Our view wasn't even of the tracks like others posted, it was of some dirt and a fence blocking the tracks. The bathroom was very nice, but when we took showers the floor would get flooded. I found the room to be very clean, but at one point we did kill a roach! EWW! I brushed it off as just a one time thing but still, not pleasant. The best part of the room was the bed-it was heavenly. But I could barely enjoy it because of how paper thin the walls were! I had to keep turning on the AC so it would drown out the noisy neighbors and people passing in the hall. I finally just got up the next morning because I couldn't take it anymore.
Also check-out time was noon which I thought was generous. But housekeeping came to our room THREE times before 10:30 and kept keying in! My husband had gone in and out of the room so the deadbolt and chain were undone. So when they keyed in nothing stopped them from seeing me naked except me running behind the wall. After the second time my husband locked and bolted the door. We had to keep asking them to come back. You'd think they would know who was still there and who wasn't.
I definitely don't believe our room was worth what we paid for it. Had we received a room like others posted about I'm sure my experience could have been better. The hotel was beautiful and in a great location, but we will not be staying here again.
