“This hotel has the best staff ever!! The location is great if you don't need to be a block or two from Broadway, as its only a 7”
My girlfriend and I had a free week in early november and despite Nashville not being on our radar, friends and family recommended it as a music-city getaway with loads of stuff to see and do, and lovely weather all year round, so we went!
We weren't disappointed!! Randomly we ended up in Nashville for the Country Music Awards, and the CMA Christmas special show, and a homecoming football game. As we were unaware prior to booking, we had only booked our hotel sun-tues, thinkin we may rent a car and leave Nashville on the Wednesday but... The city was so beautiful, and there was so much to see and do, we stayed!
Due to all the huge events our origianl hotel was booked full for the remainder of the week, and the only hotel with rooms was the Ramada Stadium. This was our great luck!! The staff at our downtown hotel, and even the taxi driver warned us that we were moving outside the 'downtown' area and this was not a good idea (???). When we arrived we couldn't be happier- it was soo close we could have walked with our wheeled baggage!! The room was sparkling clean and WAY bigger than at our original hotel!! The pool is guitar shaped and in a heated atrium for use all year long!! AND the front desk staff were fun, friendly, accomodating, and helpful!!
The continental breakfast had many options including fresh fruit and waffles and the housekeeping staff were fantastic!
We did a diners, driveins, and dives food adventure daily- walking off the beated track or taking transit to find little gems with the most amazing food! Our frontdesk gals made this easier by giving us directions or suggestions on getting around their city as the locals do which was much appreciated!!
Taxis were easy to get and plentiful for those high-heeled adventures when the footbridge may have been overly ambitious, but since we were so close to broadway, they were cheap even with a great tip for the drivers.
Note: transit to Opryland takes too long as its a multi-stop milk run, so I would recommend a taxi instead (they all have flat rates from downtown and back)
I would book this hotel again, and quite likely over the others in the downtown broadway or music row area.
Thank you Ramada staff for being so wonderful, and making our last minute random trip to nashville a memory to treasure!!
