“Satisfied”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

I recently stayed at the Hotel Preston for a business trip. GREAT staff, great price, rooms were spacious and the breakfast in the restaurant was wonderful. Loved that is was close to the airport, close to downtown and close to the great Nashville attractions. Although, I will admit, I noticed a smell also. A smell as of maybe wet carpet or a wet animal. The good things of the hotel made for a satisfied stay. Will return to the Hotel Preston.

“Great little hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

I stayed at Hotel Preston for work. I got a great price and they have quirky little amenties to make your stay more enjoyable. The bar was nice and the decor was a fun retro seventies modern. The food is a bit over priced but it is like that for most hotels. I got a deal on hotels.com and got a coupon to use on the menu. It is pretty centrally located and the bedroom was huge, comfortable, and clean. I still get coupons and deal reminders on the hotel. It is nice little place to stay for a weekend getaway to Nashville. I have really enjoyed thier properties.

“Dirty, smelly, dark”

My son and I flew in for an athletic prospect camp/college visit, first trip to Nashville. On the plus side, the hotel is close to the airport and that's about it. At check in, I asked for a room away from vending/ice machines and the elevators. She checked the layout and said we were not ...we ended up just around the corner from the vending/ice machines. The hallway reeked of cigar and cigarette smoke. Our room was dirty and dark, the carpet was crusty in areas and absolutely disgusting. I know what clean bedding smells like, our sheets and duvet covers were smelly and had some stains, like someone had slept in them and no clean sheets were put on. The restaurant was disappointing, again felt dingy, wait staff and food left a lot to be desired. Our second night we had no clean towels in our room. They were prompt in getting us towels. We had an early flight home and I had asked for 3:45 am wake up call. We got no wake up call, so luckily my phone alarm worked. I needed the hairdryer the morning we flew out and it did not work. Horrible dirty, smelly hotel, won't go back, couldn't wait to get back home.

“Nothing wrong with this hotel, why all the bad reviews?”

I won this hotel by bidding on priceline. After reading some of the reviews here I was really worried about what to expect.

My 8 yr old son and I drove up from Mississippi and arrived around 9pm. I was greeted by a super friendly gentleman at the front desk who was very nice and helpful. He made sure to explain about using the key to work the elevator so no problems there. We were given a room on the 6th floor. This is were my only possible complaint would be but it's not that big of a deal. The room we were given hadn't been cleaned yet as one of the beds was unmade still. Went back downstairs and the desk clerk was extremely apologetic and gave us another room which was perfectly fine.

Room was clean, bathroom was clean (a bit small but not that big of a deal), plenty of towels, a nice flat screen tv, comfortable beds, and free internet. I did not notice any funky smells at all like some people have posted.

We did only stay one night as this was a stopover hotel on our way to Kentucky but we had no problems during our stay. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful and I would have no problem staying here again.

“Not satisfied!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

Not a bad hotel, but totally not what I expected or paid for. If you are going for the basic room or for an overnight stay its not that bad. We got a suite to celebrate a three day weekend over New Year Eve, the hotel said that it had a mini bar in the room (No such bar), a lounge room (did but it was like down a small hall and only would be useful for someone with children or a large group), new big screen tv's (terrible picture, not HD, and had only like 12 channels), close to downtown (not really), and no additional charges (charged my card for a deposit and it still has not been placed back in my account). I have paid less money for a much better room and amenities in a number of other hotels in Nashville (Club Inn, Alexis, Hotel Indigo, Hampton Inn, and can go on). Not a terrible hotel, if we had got the basic room then it would be a 3 star but not in our case.
