Background: We drove 12 hours from Des Moines, got in late, needed a quick night of sleep to hit the road in the a.m. for another long day.
The good: The room was clean and quiet. I had no neighbors on either side and slept well. I also didn't hear any planes which suprised me as I am a light sleeper. I did run the fan though, so perhaps it covered the sound. The room had a safe and wifi, but we used neither.
The Better: The front desk staff was outstanding!! They were as friendly as any staff I have met in a hotel. I asked for a bottle opener and they didn't have one. A few minutes later the front desk employee brought me one and said she had it on a keyring in her purse and had forgotten about it. Just an example of them clearly going above and beyond to provide good service.
The best: For just needing a night of sleep the price couldn't be beat. I believe our total with all the city, state, county taxes, sucharges etc. was $67.00
The not-so-good: Nothing major, just some little things we noticed. There was no in-room coffee maker (however, there was one at the front desk). There was no closet or hair dryer. The room was small. The building is also older, but well maintained and had no pool (if it did we wouldn't have used it anyway).
Overall, for what we needed the hotel worked out just fine. If I were passing through again and needed a place to lay my head I would gladly stay here again. If I were stayinng for an extended vacation I would look for something with a few more amenities and more space.
