“Port in a Storm”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

On the night that I stayed here I arrived in Nashville as an unfamiliar traveller in the middle of thunder, lightning and the commencement of a storm, so I was grateful to be safely off the road and under cover. The most outstanding thing about this Motel was the staff who were very friendly, thoughtful and helpful. The room was OK, certainly not fancy but at least clean. For the ultra security conscious, it also contained a safe. There is no breakfast included and whilst coffee is available, you need to go to reception to get it. I did not use the safe and whilst I have no complaint, it is my opinion that the money invested on the safe, which I doubt would be used by many people if ever, would have been better spent on supplying guests with the option to make a cup of coffee in their own room.

“The Motel you want: nice, clean and cheap”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

I wish all motels was as simple as this one, you arrive, get a clean and cheap room, ask the staff some questions about the city, go downtown and check out the next day.

Very clean room and about 15 min drive to downtown for a low cost.

There are no breakfast and the coffe is undrinkable but - I have to mention - the staff was excellent! We was met by "Robert" who treated us so well we felt we were at a 5 star location! So friendly, polite, corecct and professional! As he checked us in and answered all our questions, he served other guests via the phone in the sama way. Thumbs up!

“Really good place to stay when travelling through”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2011

My wife and I stayed at this place a couple weeks ago during our drive down to Florida. I also booked because of the reviews online, as well as Red Roof Inn's policy of "pets stay free" (we have a dog). I have made several drives between northern Ohio and south Florida in the past year and, with the dog, almost always stay at a Red Roof due to price and pet policy. We booked the basic room.

Believe only the positive reviews on this one--it's a good Red Roof Inn. Clean. Fast check-in and the girl at the front desk was very helpful and efficient. If you are flying out of Nashville, they do have a "Stay & Park" deal (stay a night and park there for up to x days), but it looked to me like most people there were like us, just travelling on the next day by car.

The neighborhood is NOT sketchy; however, it is by an airport so you have a number of chain stores, restaurants, and traffic nearby. You will have to travel a little ways to find better restaurants than fast food near the hotel (McDonalds is close, Shoney's closer). Airport noise not at all noticeable. Easy access to the interstate to get to downtown Nashville or anywhere else you might want to go in the area. We went downtown on a Sunday afternoon and it only took us 15 minutes from the hotel.

All in all, this is one of the better Red Roofs I've stayed in over the past year and I've been in quite a few now. If you're looking for a big bathroom, a mint on your pillow, lots of amenities, etc., spend $50-$100 more and get it--there are lots of hotels in Nashville. But if you're looking for a good, safe, clean, reasonable cost place to stay for the night, this one really can't be beat in the Nashville area.

Room Tip: Book early online and do a follow up call

“Ech!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011 via mobile

I went there based on reviews here. When I drove up it did not look clean and it looked cheap and in an iffy area. The girl was sitting on the stairs smoking when I drove up. She came in and another was there. Just an unattractive personality all around. I asked to see the room first. She gave us a key and asked to keep my id while we went to look. There was another staff member there, so if she didn't trust me, and my son and I were definitely the least sketchy there, and in these days of identity theft I sure didnt like it and I will complain to red roof. The room itself was smoking even though I specifically asked for non, the room was smelly and tiny, and the teeny bathroom did not have the sink, that was in the room itself. The window was filthy. Although the clientele seemed ok, this place was out - if they don't trust me, why would I trust them??? Btw they saw me in my new large car and I had a pretty nice diamond bracelet and ring on. Blah.

“The only place we stay in Nashville!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

We always use this hotel for park and fly. On our most recent visit, the clerk, Robert, was especially helpful. He helped us print our boarding passes when we were having trouble with the pc available. Then, he looked on the internet and found us a nearby sushi restaurant!! We love him!

Room Tip: Exec king rooms are especially nice
