“One night is only a tease”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

This was one night of a 16 day road trip and we can't wait to go back! We got directions from Google, which were exact. Lots of highways going on and it brought us right there. The location is perfect! It is not downtown, but busy and lots happening - sort of a mall of different hotels and restaurants on its own exit.

Clean as usual and staff was inviting. We weren't at the hotel very long, as we wanted to make the best of one evening in Nashville. There are lots of pamphlets around, but the staff told us about Tommy's Tours, which is a downtown shuttle and picks up right at the hotel. That was perfect!

Jerry picked us up and basically gave us the scoop about everything on the way downtown, even details about local jobs and how to avoid the pricey parking fee at the "must see" Gatlin Hotel, I think, near our hotel location. He described how there's a river inside and very much worth the visit. He asked us about ourselves and told us about himself and told us about music stars who live there.

Once downtown on "the strip," he suggested what we could do and see and pointed out a great local restaurant with delicious food for good prices. A nice tip was knowing that all the bars don't charge a cover fee, and the music talent is all good talent; they're looking to be discovered. Most were non-smoking, but there were some that allowed smoking. So...we did what many people do when on the strip and had a drink in four different bars, which all served food, and listened to music. We also tried out the local restaurant he suggested; we only had nachos, but they were very good and the ambiance and service were great!

The best part was knowing that we weren't driving and could be picked up on any half hour, and he picked up till after midnight. There were two other couples on the return and all of us had a great time with whatever we did. We were dropped off at our hotel door - all for $10.00 each. To us, it was well worth it and made us want to return to Nashville to see more.

Our hotel bill was slipped under the hotel door during the night, so there was no check-out. Breakfast was great for us; I'm a fruit and yogurt eater and I like that there are nuts and raisins to supplant. My husband does the cereal and yogurt, so I'm not even sure if they had the pancake maker. But everything was clean.

The hotel manager was around and he gave us easy directions to continue West, without retracing our steps on all these highways. Would we stay again? Absolutely!! Thanks Fairfield/Marriott!

“Wonderful one night visit.”

We stayed one night at this hotel on our drive from Colorado back home to South Carolina the week before Christmas. The manager (Leo) and staff at the hotel were very accommodating and helpful, giving us valuable tips on how to spend our limited time in Nashville. Our room was very well appointed and clean, and the complimentary breakfast was much better than most you get at such hotels. The common areas, as well as our room, were nicely decorated and very pleasant. We took the manager's suggestion and used an independently owned shuttle service to get downtown rather than try to drive ourselves. Jerry of Tommy's Tours picked us up at the hotel and gave us a free tour on the drive in, then pointed out places to visit and eat downtown, and later picked us back up for the return to the hotel, all for an extremely reasonable price. We lost a cell phone on our downtown trip (probably while having too much fun!), and Jerry went back the next day, found it and mailed it to us! Excellent, excellent service! We would definitely stay again at this hotel and will call Jerry when we do!

Nice hotel and person staf there was very helpful , I had a messages waiting for me in the reseptions since we where meeting up for a little TA meet with Ethelmaepotter and her husbond at 6 pm at a restaurant located near by and when we checked in the time was 5.45 pm ,the lovely lady called the restaurant and told them we where running late, but that we where at the hotel now and that we would just arravie as fast as we could :-)
Hotel lobby and rooms are inviting they have free internet connections there and in the lobby to use, great big hot indoors swimming pool which my kids tried out several time, Laudry service You can do Yourself which I did :-)
But reason this dosn´t get a high score from me is the breakfast , they had a one hot item there and that was a busquiet with a burger inside that You should heat in the microwave - so no pancakes or waffels :-( Coffee was good there thought and we could get it all day and night long if wanted. But I wished they could have done a little bit more about the breakfast since the place other wise was a great place to stay .

Room Tip: We always has high floors but probably all location on this place would have been good, but dosn´t t...

“Okay hotel. Prefer staying elsewhere in the Opryland area.”

I have been to this area of Nashville several times and have stayed at a few different hotels. We decided to stay at this Fairfield Inn because of trust in the Mariott brand and some photos on their site looked nice. This hotel looks much older in person than in photos. The rooms were okay and the beds were comfortable, but nothing stands out about this hotel and I wouldn't stay here again. I paid much less to stay at the Best Western Suites and the room there was nicer. The room does not have a couch, only two double beds (not even Queens). The air conditioning unit does not work very well and the breakfast is lame. Many of the items on the buffet were still frozen in the middle at 9am. Save some money and stay at the Best Western Suites instead.
