From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the General Manager, we were quite naughty really as we arrived a little early, but this was not a problem, she took our bags stored them away and took us into the lovely restaurant for complimentary Devonshire Tea and we had the most lovliest view of the vineyard. After finishing our Devonshire Tea the General Manager provided us with the keys to our room.... And what a lovely room it was we stayed in the suite - Maple 205. It was beautiful and may I add extremely clean (I noted previous people staying here commented on the grout in the bathroom being extremely dirty, well if they had a closer look, the would notice that is the colour of the grout, its a clay colour). I have to really comment on how clean the rooms and the property is. The view from our room was beautiful overlooking the lake and grounds and we had a shared balcony which was lovely. There were bathrobes and slippers placed on our bed too.
We were provided with (free of charge) vouchers to the winery for wine tasting and an upgrade from breakfast to brunch.
The winery is lovely and the lady manning the winery was very attentitive even though there were a few of us there, she was not flustered at all, we had the ploughmans plate which was just enough to keep the hunger at bay for dinner time in the restaurant.
We even had a massage in their day spa.... My other half fell alseep and snored away thats how relaxing it was. Their pool and spa are good too you can control how hot you want them to be.
Unfortunately we only stayed 1 night, I wish it was longer.
Brunch upon check out was lovely and set our stomachs in good stead for the trip back home.
A few points to make:
How refreshing it was that the General Manager takes the time to speak to you and she ensures that your stay is a pleasant one, she even hugged us when we departed we actually felt like we were part of a family. You can see that she takes pride in the daily upkeep of the hotel.
All the staff we encountered were very friendly and happy to accommodate any request.
I have to make note of the bed, it was so comfortable.
If your intentions are to experience accommodation in the country, dont expect to stay at a 5 star resort as this is not the case, they are not situated in the Melbourne CBD they are situated in Red Hill... It would be a pity to expect this. Enjoy and embrace what this lovely hotel in Lindenderry has to offer you will be pleasantly surprised.
Thank you to all the staff that made our stay so memorable.
