Very peaceful property, room quite large but not cleaned very well, nothing special here, hot breakfast was included, dinner was available but went to pub for dinner instead. Lovely monthly market in the town of Lancefield and great Antique centre. Very reasonable for overnight stay in the country, not too far from Melbourne, moved on to Daylesford for weekend round trip. Much quieter than Daylesford area, no restaurants except pub. Sunday pizza oven for lunch time, Sundays only, very quaint, lovely lounge area to relax and watch TV and play pool. Cellar Door not open. Shame about that.

If you’re in the Lancefield area for some reason and need a nice quiet hotel for an overnight stop, this is a good option – decent rooms, peaceful setting, and friendly service. And you don’t need to go very far for excellent food as the food at the hotel is top notch! These are motel style units, all single level with individual external access.

I spent a few nights at the Grange on a recent business trip. The location is fairly rural, about 90min north of Melbourne, but that makes it all the more tranquil. The hotel lies on the edge of the small town of Lancefield which has most basic services. There is a nice walking/bicycling path across the highway which is great for early morning runs or walks. It’s only about a 5min walk along the path into the town. The grounds are really nice with lots of mature trees and grassy lawn.

The rooms are fairly basic with all the standard furniture, nothing extravagant. The TVs are quite old (CRT) and in need of updating. The rooms have heat pumps, a necessity in winter, but because they are located near the ceiling, the floor area remains quite cool. The room was spotlessly clean and fairly well maintained. The bathrooms are basic but functional and all rooms have internet access. Although located next to the highway there was no problem with road noise. However the noise of the heat pump turning on and off all night kept me from getting a good sleep (I turned it off after the first night).

Overall I had a fairly pleasant stay at the Grange, and it represents reasonable value for the money. I recommend it to others as an overnight stop and I would stay here again given the chance.

Likes – peaceful, excellent food, running/biking path
Dislikes – needs some updating, noisy and ineffective heat pump

Myself and some friends stayed at Grange at Lancefield this weekend. I arrived in a mad panic as the accom I had originally booked had fallen through. I was desperate for a room for two nights as well as a further 3 rooms for 3 other families who were joining me. Given that this was on the Harvest Picnic weekend this was no mean feat!! I met with the lovely Grace who was so calm whilst I was quite panicked about where we were going to stay. After a quick phone call to arrange housekeeping etc....she sorted out our room requirements in under 5 minutes. Very smart efficient service. Rooms are adequate and grounds area great for the little kids to run around. Given the circumstances, I couldnt have been happier.

Liked the room, had a king bed and the surrounding gardens were well maintained, however we stayed two nights and the restaurant (which was advertised as part of this resort) was closed both nights, It was the Australia Day weekend and the motel was heavily booked. On the Monday night prior to Aust. Day the only hotel in Lancefield was also closed, there are no other options available it is disappointing that the motel did not cater for it's guests, We drove to Romsey 8 klm away for dinner. The other disappointment is this resort is at the Cleveland winery but the tasting room was not open at all and no tastings were available.
