“bad managment and dirty”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Booked for 3 nights, on arrival demanded full payment up front. room was dirty and bathroom filthy. Due to accident and hospital stay had to cancel remaining 2 days. asked for refund and denied. Manager became abusive, yelled at my wife and had to be restrained by 2 colleagues. We will be taking our complaint further with the golden chain and fair trading but do not recommend this hotel to anyone

Room Tip: find somewhere else

“Abusive Staff and substandard”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

We had the misfortune of booking in to KIH late yesterday for 4 night stay
1 - KIH hotel had us booked for 2 nights not 4
2- bed covercovers obvious stains and not clean
3 - 2 tiny "embroidered" faded pink and green bath towels, looked liked taken from your great aunts bathroom
4 - mattresses so old, the type is not made anymore
5 - hotel insisted we pay for entire stay upfront
6- KIH refused to refund our money when we felt we had to check out after nly 1 night because the room was so substandard.
7- one bed was so lop sided (we assumed due to bad mattress) that I slept almost completely head down, 2 hours later I had to get up.
we found when packing to leave, same bed was actually missing a leg. When we pointed this out to managment, we where verbally abused by KIH manager for removing the leg ourselves!
This went on for some time and after 30 minutes were actally allowed to leave.
8 -still waiting for refund
9- wouldn't bother with hotel breakfast
10- KIH advertises they have a pool - where???

“Arrogant Management”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Placed one of my American bussiness friends in this place, he had to check out a day earlier than expected and was still charged for the extra night. Management stated " 48 hours notice must be given". Management (or the very rude person behind the desk) did not even want to discuss the matter, he just wanted to yell and scream.

Room Tip: Dont stay here, pleanty of other options

“What you would expect from an older motel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We stayed here over Christmas 2011 as it is the only place in Killara. It is an older place that is in need of a freshen up. Generally satisfied with the cleanliness of room. It was cleaned every day we were there and we got fresh towels each day regardless of where they were left (in contravention of the displayed "green" policy, ie leave them on the floor if you want them changed).
We bring our own breakfast/coffee etc, so had to empty the fridge of the useless minibar to make room for our own water, milk etc. Heavy emphasis on checking the minibar for any useage, including interrupting our afternoon nap to count that it was still all there. Apart from staff generally being hard to find when I wanted something, including at check in, they were quite friendly and helpful.
The only problem I had with the place was the bed was far too soft for my liking.

“Handy for a short stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

We booked this place for a couple of days over the Christmas Holidays. On the Pacific Highway but the noise level is fine. Pretty well what you would expect from a 3 star place. Clean and comfortable. Upside is handy to public transport, plenty of (free) carparking, complimentory newspapers, nice restaurant.

Downside is a fair distance from car to room, no lift (a drag when you are on the second floor), smoking bins outside each room which means anyone smoking will end up blowing smoke in through your windows or vents. Good for a short stay.
