“We Keep Going Back- Must Be Satisfied Customers!”

Our 4th stay here. We stay for the location- easy access to the city, especially the quay and harbour areas. This stay we visited The Rocks area and Taronga Zoo for a Twilight Concert, using the ferry service to get around. We also used the beautiful local Maccallum Pool.
We stayed in a 1st floor Queen room- comfortable bed, clean basic room with a large opening window and a ceiling fan (there was also a Air Conditioner if you prefer)
The breakfast is good- juice, cereals, tinned and fresh fruit, breads for toasting, cheese and tomatoes, teas and coffee.

“Not convincing.”

I stayed here with my girlfriend for two nights.

The first night we stayed in one of the ground floor rooms, with shared shower. The room was quite clean and more or less this is its only advantage. It is very small. The toilet is even smaller. The lighting was poor and the window faced the breakfast area, so it was really noisy in the morning. Also, I could here the gentleman next door snoring. That is fine, I snore myself and but I would expect a little better sound proofing.

The second night we upgraded to a room with en suite bathroom and I have to say that it is quite nice! Comfortable, clean and very well decorated.

The location is tricky. it is very close to Sydney by the ferry (about 10') BUT on public holiday the ferries are not running that often. Also the last one is at around 12, so if you are planning to have a night out keep in mind that either you will have to pay about 25AUD for a cab or change a couple of buses. If you have a car, you are set.

Price - wise, I think that the shared bathroom room is overpiced. My suggestion: either pay 50AUD more and get an en-suite room or look somewhere else.

Bonus for me, reception hours are 7-7 ( if I remember correctly). I was expecting a luggage from QANTAS, and apparently reception does not reply to calls after 8 in the evening. They kindly took care of the issue (at 12 in the night actually) but it is something to bear in mind.

Room Tip: Avoid the shared shower one.

Dear Guest,
We are sorry that you were not happy with your initial room. Unfortunately in sydney $50 a night is simply not possible. Most backpackers charge $30 for a night in a dorm. Our compact rooms at the rear are actually some of the best value rooms available in sydney. You failed to note that your rate (which is usually under $100) included breakfast for 2 people, wireless internet, free phone calls and an albeit small, but very comfortable room with a private toilet. I am pleased that you enjoyed your upgrade and I'm glad that our staff were able to help with your luggage at midnight. I might add that I feel you are being a bit harsh with your review, as it seemed that your expectations for sydney may have been a little misguided.

Sincerely

“Lovely... and convenient!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We had two nights at the Cremorne Point Manor, and would definitely recommend it to others! Our room was the King Spa Room, which is located on the lower level.

It is so amazingly quiet... we didn't notice the comings and goings of other travellers, which was a nice change!

The room was lovely... not massive, but then you wouldn't expect that of a building of this style and vintage. Mind you the bathroom was huge!!! The breakfast provided was an array of fresh breads and cereals. There's also a lovely verandah upstairs, with views of Mosman Bay... perfect for an afternoon wine!

The location is just perfect. A 10 minute ferry into the city... which run on the hour until late, so it makes for a beautiful trip home after a city dinner.

Will definitely be staying again!!

Room Tip: We booked the King Spa Suite, which was a great size.

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

The location of this hotel was great, close to the ferry which goes to the city and Mosman and there are lovely walks around the foreshore of the harbour. On arrival at the hotel we found we had been upgraded to a King size bed which was very comfortable however the rest of the room was pokie, not enough rookm to have two chairs to sit on, you had to sit on the bed to watch TV, overall the room was shaby, as was the small bathroom. It wasn't dirty but looked shaby. For $195.00 per night I would have expected something better than this.
The pictures on the internet do not really portray this hotel. On the postive side there is a lift upstairs for those who have difficulty walking up stairs, breakfast was a continental breakfast and was OK, parking is street parking and can be difficult, particular if you go out for a meal and loose your park.

Room Tip: Best advice see before you book in.

Dear Ana and Bob,
I am very concerned that you found our hotel disappointing. We do strive to make every guest happy and would have loved to have received this feedback while you were in house as at the time we could have done our best to accommodate your needs. The photo's of the rooms are exactly as the rooms are finished, so I find it surprising that you found them so different. I sincerely would have liked to know your concerns before you checked out, however unfortunately there is little I can do at this late stage

Sincerely

JC Branch

“Room like a shoebox”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in a double room. I can not imagine how small the annex rooms can be as it was a double but for the price VERY small, with just enough room to walk pass the bed with touching the wall. The walls are thin, we could hear the others talking next door. Air con and fridge are loud, bed is small as well and not comfortable at all I was even thinking to go out to sleep in the car..... There were tea and coffee making facilities, a complimetary bottle of water, toiletries in the (tiny) bathroom. Sink was very small and there was no place to put the toiletries bag.
Staff were very nice, extremely helpful and friendly, no doubt about that. Breakfast is free, cereal, jam, cheese, tomatoes, butter, bread, milk, tea, coffee. The area is lovely and quiet. Ferry just 5 min away from the hotel. Car parking is on the road, might be difficult to find a paking space as it is a residential area, with cars parking there overnight.

Dear Guest,
I am sorry to hear that your room was not to your expectations. I am concerned about your comment about our mattress. We spend a lot of money ensuring our mattress's are of the best quality and are replaced very regularly. We normally receive very positive reviews about our mattress's.

I would ask if next time you are not happy then please contact the staff, we try to accommodate everyone and rest assured we would have been very willing to move you (where space available).

I am pleased that you enjoyed the breakfast and that the staff were friendly and accommodating. As we are an old building the size of the smaller rooms admittedly is not very large, however we do have larger rooms and the incremental cost is minor.

Sincerely

JC Branch
