“Kitchen needs cleaning and upgrading”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2011

This is our third year here at Casa Blanca for 6 weeks. The location, pool, grounds, beach and staff are awesome. Breakfasts are great. The suites are large but getting dated. The kitchen is ceramic tile and it's dirty. The kitchen is always the disapointment if you are interested in any cooking inside. The stove is a two burner, some years we had sparks when we used it, some years the burners were at an incredible angle...it's the same every year. There are no upper cabinets and the lower ones are full of leftover crumbs etc from previous guests so we keep all our food in the fridge. The internet has been sporatic all three years. We stay for 6 weeks and get a decent discount but for what they charge, they need to put some money back into the hotel. We have found a place just down the street that is very very clean and this may be our last year here because I don't feel it is sanitary enough to cook here. I don't feel that asking for a clean kitchen is too much, do you? The kitchen here is ceramic tile and the grout is black and very dirty, no matter how many times you clean it with bleach or soap. I do not feel comfortable using the counters. If they would overhaul the kitchen and bathroom I would always come here. I would recomment his hotel still, especially if you are planning to do a lot of eating out.

“Love It!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2010

This has been the 5th time for my family and I staying at the Casa Blanca. We absolutely love it! Great for young families. The pool is wonderful for kids, and the view of the ocean/pool icing on the cake. We have always had great service. It is unfortunate to read the last post but I assure you this is an isolated incident. I would highly reccomend, and will continue to go back. Guaybitos is a very peaceful place. Going to the market in La Pinita, is a treat. An absolute must, is to go to Chacala. Eat on the beach, play in the water, almost like you are the only ones there! Well worth the trip!

“Good value Best location on the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2010

I wasn.t going to do a review this long after our trip until I saw the review from the good Dr.
It seem that some people are never satisfied. However you will want to keep in mind that this is not the Hilton and most of us pay a lot less than he is showing. This is a wonderful little town and a hotel that would rate a 3 star any place in the world. Don't be put off by these negative comments.

“Having travelled all over Mexico, wouldn't recommend this hotel - violent, frightening clientele”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2010

Having found great value in tripadvisor in both being able to find great hotels and avoid bad hotels, I thought I should inform people about this hotel in Rincon. First, I am a doctor, my wife is a finance executive. We have traveled to Mexico almost 15 times and usually enjoyed ourselves immensely. We find Mexico to be a generally satisfying destination when it comes to experience, value and cuisine. We traveled to Rincon after having read about it and really liked the town. We went with our children: 4 and 2. There are no lack of hotels in Rincon and we chanced upon Casablanca because we had traveled a long way (from Costa Alegre) and were tired. Rincon was very busy. Now the Hotel is OK in amenities - for a town full of hotels, it is very overpriced and doesn't justify its costs. When we left, we realized there were many hotels along the beach that were 30-60% cheaper with equal, superior or comparable amenities. The rooms are large sized but dated and stiff and uncomfortable.

However, the worst thing about this hotel is its security and clientele. When we were there, there were packs of young men who appeared to have nothing to do but were guests there. These young men were very aggressive and would intimidate guests out of the pool and bump and push other guests. They nearly attacked my wife and I in the pool when were lounging in a corner - a pack of them descended and cornered us in the pool. I stood between them (5) and my wife and eventually they backed away after other guests noticed what was going on. I complained to the management, who seemed unconcerned and said this was just a misunderstanding between us and them. I saw one bellhop talk to the young men, who promptly ignored him and continued to do what they were doing - utterly destroying the peace, calm and quiet of the hotel and creating an environment of fear and intimidation. I gathered these types of guests were frequent at Hotel Casablanca. I promptly asked for a refund and left with my family - I received a partial refund, which I thought was unfair and left to go to Puerto Vallarta. After leaving, I did some research online and found Casablanca was the most expensive hotel in Rincon but far from the most posh or luxurious. There is alot of competition for your dollars in Rincon and alot of value in the Hotels there. You can spend far less than the 200 dollars per night that Casablanca charges and enjoy a safer more child-friendly environment with comparable or superior luxury.

“Looks Good”

Once again we stayed at the Casablanca and once again I was very disappointed in the kitchen. The rooms are very spacious and each room has an oceanview. The breakfast that is included is very good and the staff is friendly, although only a couple speak English. But the kitchen sure needs some upgrading. Our friends staying next door and paying half of what we paid had a four burner gas stovetop. We had a two burner electric stovetop - and one of the burners was at quite an angle! The kitchen cupboards are so old with no shelving that I did not feel safe using them - I kept all my foodstuffs on top of the counter.
