“Amazing vacation at Casa Obelisco!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 February 2011

My boyfriend and I spent a beautiful, warm sunny week at Casa Obelisco in February 2011 - and it exceeded all our expectations.

Every morning we munched on fresh fruit and were treated to delicious hot breakfasts prepared by Casa O's four gracious hosts while overlooking the ocean, and occasionally spotting a whale in the distance passing by. Afternoons were either spent exploring the jungle trail, long stretch of pristine beach (literally steps away from Casa O), the town of San Pancho and nearby Sayulita, or simply lounging by the beautiful heated in-ground pool, sipping a margarita and tasting Evie's delicious quesadillas.

Our rooms were immaculate, bright, spacious and comfortable. We'd fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the waves hitting the shore every day and night. The breakfast/lounge area upstairs overlooking the ocean was ideal for having a leisurely breakfast, or just relaxing and chatting with other guests/or hosts.

Day trips are easy if you have a vehicle. If you want to check out Sayulita (a nearby surf town), or head into Nuevo or Puerto Vallarta, I recommend you rent a car right by the Puerto Vallarta airport - we had a good experience with Dollar Rent A Car. We went on a full day whale watching/snorkelling trip from Nuevo Vallarta to the Marietas Islands. It was extremely easy to find and about a 45 minute car ride from Casa O. (Another recommendation: wait until summer to take this trip! Brr!)

San Pancho is a wonderful town, with plenty of delicious restaurants and beachfront bars. The people are friendly, and the weather is beautiful, dry and warm (even in February!). Casa O was the icing on the cake - this was one of our most memorable vacations to date, and beats an all inclusive resort by a landslide. I would recommend it to anyone.

Thanks Casa O for the opportunity to visit! We will definitely be back!

“Casa Obelisco is Heaven!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 February 2011

Wow, what a great place in a wonderful small beach town. We spent 6 marvelous days and nights at Casa Obelisco and couldn't have been happier. It’s a beautiful B&B just off the beach – I couldn't get over all of the tile work – with very spacious, clean and comfortable accommodations. The rooms have walkouts down to the pool area with a pool bar that is staffed in the afternoon for drinks and made-to-order food. And the breakfasts were superb. A leisurely and scenic walk down the beach takes you into town with shops and a variety of great eateries. I could go on and on but you can’t go wrong at Casa Obelisco with its wonderful hosts, John and Judi and Bill and Barbara. This ranks in the top 5 of our all-time vacation spots. We will definitely be back.

“the perfect tranquil setting for a relaxing holiday!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 February 2011

We traveled with a group of friends to celebrate a big birthday and couldn't have found a better spot. The rooms are spacious and quiet, our hosts were warm and inviting, the breakfasts devine. The hotel/B&B is across the street from a beautiful and uncrowded beach and there is a splendid jeep road leading off into the jungle right out the door, which proved excellent for hiking, running and bird watching.

It's about a mile down the beach to the center of San Pancho where there are a handful of really excellent restaurants - much better than any of us had expected. Typically we'd walk in and take a $3 cab ride back.

San Pancho is still a sleepy village, full of charm. Sayulita, about 10 minutes away, is larger and has many more expats. Sayulita has gotten a fair bit of press lately, but we found it closer to 'dirty' than 'Bohemian'. If you want a tranquil and friendly spot on the ocean near PV, San Pancho is the place.

“Paradise in San Pancho”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2011

Boy were we in for a treat. Casa Obelisco was absolutely one of the best B & B's we have ever experienced. With only 4 spacious suites it is a very intimate and gorgeous setting. Breakfast was unsurpased prepared by our wonderful hosts, John and Judi and Bill and Barbara. We had total relaxation around the pool in the afternoons with a light lunch and margaritas or beer. If you walk a 100 yards you can be on the sandy beach with waves breaking. Then it is just a short walk down the beach to San Pancho, a great little village for a little shopping and wonderful restaurants. Don't forget to go up on the roof in the early evenings to catch the spectacular sunsets. We were glad we had rented a car to take a few side trips. Don't miss Casa Obelisco if you have any interest in a relaxing Mexico experience.

“Wonderful, relaxing B&B with great hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2011

We returned to Casa Obelisco again this year and it was as wonderful as our memories. John & Judi, Bill & Barbara are great hosts. The rooms (only 4) are all charming with private terraces overlooking the pool and palapa. The walk to town on the beach is a perfect way to get some exercise after the delicious breakfasts. Evi's afternoon margaritas and fresh snacks are a highlight.. Viewing the sunsets on the roof is a perfect way to relax before dinner. We are looking forward to returning next year.....the best!
